A contemplative abstract composition featuring a large organic spiral form outlined in earthy browns and ochres, with a vivid red centre. Executed in Collins’s recognisable lyrical and symbolic visual language, the piece evokes themes of ancient stone carvings, Irish myth, and landscape memory. Float-mounted and framed in a soft white and gilt frame. Image: 55 x 55 cm. (approx) Framed: 77 x 79 cm. PICTURES AND PRINTS Tuesday 16th September 2025 19:14:10 Biography PATRICK COLLINS HRHA (1910 - 1994) Patrick Collins was one of Ireland’s foremost 20th-century painters, celebrated for his lyrical, semi-abstract depictions of landscapes, figures, and still life subjects. A member of the RHA and Aosdána, he exhibited widely both in Ireland and internationally. His works are held in the collections of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Ireland, and numerous private collections.
