Biography
WILLIAM PERCY FRENCH (1854 - 1920)
Percy French was a celebrated Irish songwriter, entertainer, and painter, best known for his humorous ballads and delicate watercolours. A native of County Roscommon, he travelled extensively throughout Ireland, capturing the subtle moods of the countryside in his art. His watercolours, typically small in scale, are prized for their lyrical quality and are held in public and private collections across Ireland.
