Carl Cheek (British, 1927 - 2011) A Bowl of Cherries 1960 Oil on canvas Painter and teacher, educated in England and Sweden, who studied at Chelsea School of Art, 1944–7, under Raymond Coxon, Robert Medley and Ceri Richards, then at the Royal College of Art, 1948–51, teachers including Ruskin Spear, Carel Weight, Robert Buhler, John Minton and Francis Bacon. Taught at Berkshire College of Art. Showed widely, including RA Summer Exhibition, NEAC, Redfern Gallery and elsewhere.
