Description
A Kashan silk rug c.1930 The deep indigo field of palmettes and scrolling vines. Centred by a cusped floral anchor medallion. Framed by spandrels, raspberry borders, palmettes and meandering vines. Flanked by mustard and sky blue carnation guard stripes. One end complete. The other end virtually complete but slightly nibbled in one corner. Selvages are original with slight losses to binding cords. Pile is in good condition. Tested in several places for cracking/splitting and found to be soft. Dimensions: 202 cm (L) x 123 cm (W)
