Claudio Bravo (Chilean, 1936-2011) Portrait of an elegant woman in pink 1966 Pastel on paper Signed 'Claudio Bravo' upper left and dated in Roman numerals 'MCMLXVI' upper right Provenance: The sitter, South of Spain, gifted by the artist; Private collection; Thence by descent; Private collection, UK This portrait dates from the 1960s, when the Chilean painter, who became well known for his hyper-realist style, had established himself in Madrid as a society portraitist, where he did very well. Indeed, two years after this was painted Bravo was invited by President Marcos of the Philippines to come and paint him and his wife, Imelda Marcos. Dimensions: (Frame) 43 in. (H) x 32 in.
