Herbert James Gunn (Scottish, 1893-1964) A portrait sketch of Harold Macmillan (1894–1986), 1st Earl of Stockton, three-quarters length c. 1962 Oil on canvas Maurice Harold Macmillan, 1st Earl of Stockton (10 February 1894 – 29 December 1986) was a Conservative politician and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1957 to 1963, who went by the sobriquet 'Supermac'. These two sketches were presumably painted around the same time as Gunn painted the portrait of MacMillan which currently hangs in Balliol College, Oxford From the collection of Reginald and Cynthia Brown Dimensions: (Frame) 25 in.
