Poppy - Sponsor: S.Stibbards & Sons Ltd / Artist: Allison Allan / In 1921, poppies were adopted by the Royal British Legion as a symbol of remembrance and peace. In 2002, Plantlife conducted a "County Flowers" public survey to assign flowers to each of the counties of the United Kingdom and the common poppy was assigned as the county flower of Essex. Poppy the Penguin celebrates both these symbols. Allison constantly explores new techniques and subject matter, drawn to extremes; youth and age, brokenness and joy, light and dark. Her expressionistic oils, acrylics, inks and mixed media work reflect these contrasts in bold, evocative ways. She is a published author and exhibits with THAT Gallery in Basingstoke - Height 1600mm width 890mm Depth 1090mm weight 30kg
