A WW2 Indian Army five-medal group to Lt-Col. William David Curtis Padfield (1919-2011) (129563) - mounted in court style on board and with similarly mounted miniature set.
1. the British War and Defence Medals
2. the 1939-1945 and Africa Stars
3. the 1937 Coronation Medal
The miniature set as above, but also with the India Service Medal 1939-1945.
Also to include a colonel's rank epaulette with crown and two stars. 

* W.D.C. Padfield passed out from 170 (M.G.) O.C.T.U. at Aldershot in May 1940 and was gazetted into the Manchester Regiment from which he transferred to the 5th Mahratta Light Infantry three months later. He was promoted captain in 1941. In 1945 he married Sushila, daughter of Sir Samuel Ranganadhan, the High Commissioner of the Government of India in London. In 1946 he was awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
