Description
Two Chinese Yixing stoneware teapots - of lobed gourd form, both with kylin finials to the floral-form covers, the larger with carved four character seal mark to base and impressed mark beneath cover, 11.5cm high; the other with impressed four character seal mark to base and faint impressed seal mark beneath cover, 9.1cm high.
* Condition: The larger teapot with chipping to the upper edge of the cover rim (to left of kylin finial) and two tiny chips to the lower edge of the cover. One tiny frit to the rim on the teapot. No other faults. / The smaller teapot has chipping to the flange on the cover, a few small chips to the lower edge of the cover and several tiny frits and two small chips to the top edge of the cover. Also an old chip to the nose of the kylin finial. Five tiny chips to the top edge of the teapot rim. The spout has a rough edge to the tip on the upper surface - possibly a very old small chip or possibly an uneven surface from manufacture. The left side of the teapot has two small rough blobs of pottery to the surface, which are a manufacturing flaw. No other faults.
