A BRASS MILITARY PLAQUE AND TWO SMALL PIECES OF TRENCH ART, the plaque would have been attached to a wall and it reads These colours were presented to Colonel T. Clifton and the Officers of the 1st Royal Lancashire Militia on 27th June 1870 and were placed in a Chapel by Colonel Commandant B.N. North and the officers of the Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment 15th July 1905, the trench are includes a small ashtray with an artillery badge on it and a small brass plate with a car attached inscribed Major H.G. TYRELL SMITH R.E.ME., this appears to have been a good luck souvenir (38cm x 25cm)
George III, a copper ashtray, in the centre an impression of the Pattern Dollar, 1811, with bust left, legend around impression from a die made by matthew boulton at soho 1804 and used to convert silver dollars captured by the english in the spanish war, the image of carolus iii being thus defaced, 116mm (cf. BDW 4, 332); together with a separate uniface obv. striking of the Dollar [2]. Some verdigris on the back of the ashtray, otherwise very fine, uniface piece better £30-£40
