A Danish Saxbo pottery vase with melon type glaze and bark style panel decoration marked to base with yin and yang mark and "Saxbo Denmark - 2" and with indistinct carafe type maker's mark "Estahil?" 45 cm high CONDITION REPORTS There is a pinhead hole on the internal rim sort of a white area. There is also a black area but this just seems to be slightly darker glaze. There is also a pinhead hole within the neck. There appears to be some scratching around the same area as the pinhead hole on the rim. There are several pinhead firing faults to the body as well as some scratches in white. There is also what looks like areas of white paint to the body. In need of a good clean. The base has what looks like a firing fault that has been filled, however, it looks as though the glaze is in the crack itself so assume this is done during the manufacturing process. There are also two large globules of glaze on the foot area which have clearly run down. The vase doesn't sit quite flat, there is some movement to it although doesn't feel as though it's going to fall over. Otherwise general wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details.
