An imposing blue glazed Castle Hedingham pottery charger, decorated in relief with Heraldic devices, by Edward Bingham, inscribed to the reverse, This plateau is commemorative of the ancient family of de Vere, Earls of Oxford. The eight suspended badges are those of John the 13th Earl (Friend of Henry VII) The central shield mottoes etc., are from the tomb of the 15th Earl in Castle Hedingham Church and the curious border is also from the same tomb. Made at Castle Hedingham, in Essex by me Edward Bingham, ornamental potter, May 1885, 70cm diameter

No obvious damage or repairs, but it has a dull ring when tapped, suggesting it has a crack somewhere within the body.

A Castle Hedingham blue and cream glazed pottery candlestick, stamped CASTLE HEDINGHAM, with pad mark to base, 27cm high, together with a small blue glazed urn, incised EWB, 11cm high (2)Vase has crazing within the glaze, both the rim of the foot and lip of the bowl are worn and chipped around the edges. Candlestick is dirty, with various small chips around the edges. It is roughly made, so not too noticeable.
