Collection of vintage bears and animals, including Wendy Boston, Chad Valley Chiltern, clockwork artificial silk plush bear on all fours; clockwork cymbal playing monkey, etc; Fair to Good; (qty). Provenance: The vendor states: "My 95 year old Mother has had the brown Teddy Bears since childhood. At a young age of only 4, she was taken to toy manufacturer Chad Valley in Harborne, Birmingham and chose one. The other bear with the growl initially belonged to her Brother, but he didn’t take care of him, so he joined my Mother’s collection.  She would put them in a row, along with a cat and a sailor boy from the Queen Mary liner, in her bed at night and tuck the bedclothes up nearly under their necks, very careful not to ‘suffocate them’! She can still visualise the line up – always in exactly the same order! She loved them all; they were her own little family. When my parents moved to Germany in the 1950s, the bears were left at her parents’ house. They subsequently survived a few house moves but sadly became a bit worse for wear over the years. It was only when my parents downsized recently after 66 years in the same house that we re-discovered the bears in the eaves. The other stuffed toys were bought in the late 1950s and early 1960s for my Sister and me. The white bear was bought for me when I was born in 1960 and was much loved. It would mean a lot to know that they can all find a new loving home and maybe be restored some way to their former glory!

Steel chassis, with four wheels. Good condition, slightly worn overall, with corrosion to steel frame, 19.5"/50cm in height (to handle). 

A rare Einco Chiltern Toys Master Teddy Dog circa 1915, standing on all fours with golden mohair, white, blue and black opaque glass googly eyes, black stitched nose and open mouth with pink inner, crossed facial seams, swivel head, unjointed body --7in.(18cm.) high (tail loose at seam, small holes to back left foot pad)

Chiltern "Teddy" (St Michael Toys for Marks & Spencer's) vintage teddy bear, blue circular card label to chest- "Teddy" MADE IN ENGLAND and reverse side HYGIENIC "St Michael" TOYS MADE IN ENGLAND, original red ribbon to neck (faded), amber and black glass eyes, vertically stitched black nose, fully jointed, coarse woven cotton pads, black claw stitching, inoperative press squeaker, mohair is worn and balding in patches, particularly to head, front of body and limbs, circular card label is worn and torn in two- repaired by sellotape, otherwise Good, 15"/38cm. NB: This is a rare example of a Chiltern "Teddy" manufactured for Marks and Spencer's during the 1950s. The circular card label is similar in typeface, design and card stock to those used by Chiltern.

Pair of artist designed teddy bears: (1) Teddy Bears of Witney 2006 teddy bear, LE 250; this is the first of a series of annual bears specially created for Teddy Bears of Witney. Witney 2006 Bear is made of gold mohair with glass eyes, a waxed thread nose and leather paws in the style of English bears of the late 1940s. He has been gently and sympathetically aged, with chest tag, MISSING certificate, press squeaker, Excellent Plus, 10"/25cm; (2) Bears That Are Special panda bear, by Pam Howells (former designer for Chiltern Toys), blonde and cream mohair, amber and black glass eyes, brown vertically stitched nose, fully jointed, velveteen pads, brown webbed claw stitching, signed to foot pad, Excellent Plus, 15"/38cm.
