Literatur:Maestro Van Wittel. Ella Kowalska M is for Mother, 2024 Photographic print on paper Signed on Verso 10 x 15cm (3¾ x 5¾ in.) About Ella Kowalska is a photographer who practices street, documentary, and art photography. In her photography work she is particularly sensitive to the colours, materials, and sounds that give the world its texture, and she seeks to achieve the right balance between realism and fantasy. She is driven by the desire to give an account of our times and searches for a form of 'augmented reality' able to tell our modernity. Her Polish upbringing was marked by a culture that calls for absurdity and irrationality and sublimes the beauty and profoundness in the unreasonable and extravagant. It's in this distorted reality, which could sometimes seem more real than the reality itself, and in its astonishing connections that she feels at home. A young woman, seen through the interplay of reflections, appears on the phone, her pregnant belly symbolizing renewal. The image bridges spaces and generations, representing the duality of migration in France and everywhere else-loss and separation, yet hope and continuity through new life. M is for Mother is a reflection photography piece employing the technique of capturing layered visuals. The M metro sign, positioned within the reflection of a Madonna poster, evokes a powerful metaphor-a motherly figure watching over the city with a nurturing gaze. A tender narrative unfolds within the urban landscape. Time Travelers is a reflection photography piece utilizing the panning technique. By blurring the background and foreground, enhanced through dynamic reflections, two figures appear as if journeying through space and time. The interplay of motion and light evokes a surreal narrative of movement beyond reality. Yellow is a photography piece utilizing the panning technique. Rainy days transform the cityscape, with reflections in water blurring reality. As natural light fades, artificial hues emerge, casting a dreamlike glow. The figure with the vibrant umbrella seems to step straight out of a fairytale, merging movement and magic in one fleeting moment. Lisa Golightly Red Boat, 2024 Acrylic on paper Signed on Verso 10 x 15cm (3¾ x 5¾ in.) About Lisa Golightly strives to capture the essence of fleeting moments and the emotional landscapes of everyday life. Her paintings are an exploration of the intersection between memory and perception. Using vibrant colors and expressive brushwork, she creates a dialogue between abstraction and representation, inviting viewers to engage with and relate to their own memories and experiences. Found photographs and more recently 8mm home movies work as a starting point to her paintings. She is fascinated by the intricacies of relationships, the interplay of light and shadow, and the beauty found in imperfection. Each painting serves as a practice in storytelling, where layers of paint mimic the layers of our experiences, capturing the complexity of our emotions. Embracing a process-oriented approach to painting, she allows intuition to guide her hand. This spontaneity not only infuses her work with energy but also mirrors the unpredictability of life itself. Ultimately, the goal of the work is to create a sense of connection-to evoke introspection, longing, and sometimes sadness that resonates with others. Ella Kowalska Time Traveller, 2024 Photographic print on paper Signed on Verso 10 x 15cm (3¾ x 5¾ in.) About Ella Kowalska is a photographer who practices street, documentary, and art photography. Education 2022 Training in Photography, Gobelins Imagery School, Paris, France 2010-2011 Master of Art history specialised in museology and cultural heritage, University Panthéon Sorbonne, Paris, France 2009-2010 Master of law specialised in cultural heritage, University Paris-Sud XI, Sceaux, France 2009-2010 Master of art history specialised in contemporary art, University Panthéon Sorbonne, Paris, France 2008-2009 Master of law specialised in public law, University Panthéon Sorbonne, Paris, France Exhibitions 2025 La Chapelle, Halle Pajol, Paris, France 2024 100 Years, 100 Women, MVAC du 7ème, Paris, France Elles par elles, Les Camélias, Nice, France Women in Art Exposition, The Roundhouse, London, United Kingdom Women street photographers: a global street photography exhibition, Objectifs, Singapore 2023 Culture(s): between fusion(s) and contrast(s), Espace Aleph, Montréal, Canada Awards 2023 1st price, Culture(s): between fusion(s) and contrast(s), Arab World Festival of Montreal Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork Call Me is a reflection photography piece employing the technique of capturing layered visuals. Lisa Golightly Green Boat, 2024 Acrylic on paper Signed on Verso 10 x 15cm (3¾ x 5¾ in.) About Lisa Golightly strives to capture the essence of fleeting moments and the emotional landscapes of everyday life. * FRED YATES (BRITISH 1922 - 2008), THE PAVILLION oil on canvas, signed versoframed image size 41cm x 51cm, overall size 46cm x 55cm Provenance: The artist's estate, estate label verso. Note: Fred Yates was a self-taught British artist, known for his plein-air paintings of the English landscape. Influenced by so-called naïve art and the work of L S Lowry, Yates' work incorporated bold colours, loose brushwork, and child-like abstractions. Often, he layered paint on top of the canvas to create a thick, textured surface, giving his paintings a sculptural quality. Born on July 25, 1922 in Urmston, England, Yates fought in the Second World War alongside his twin brother, who was killed at the Battle of Arnheim. After the war, he began painting the Manchester cityscape in his free time and became well known in the local art scene, working alongside painter Lowry. Yates moved to Cornwall in 1968, where he began painting rocky beach landscapes and scenes of village life. He gained national attention after presenting his work at the 1985 exhibition “St Ives 1939– 64” at the Tate Gallery in London. A decade later, the artist moved to Rancon, France, painting the local landscape for the remainder of his artistic career. Yates died on July 7, 2008 in England at the age of 85. His work is held in the collections of the Brighton and Hove Art Gallery, Liverpool University, and the University of Warwick.

Dadler, Sebastian (German, 1586-1657); b. Hamburg NETHERLANDS, Aankomst van Prinses Mary in Holland [Arrival of Princess Mary in Holland], 1642, a struck silver medal by S. Dadler, Frederick, Prince of Orange, seated left, trampling his enemies while holding a sword in his right hand and a band with shields of the seven United Provinces in his left, Prince William and Princess Mary at left, cityscape in background, rev. pleasure garden within wattled fence, Belgic lion above the entrance at which Prince William receives his bride, 73mm, 112.88g (Wieçek 107; Maué 47; van Loon II, 257; MI I, 290/105; E 138; BDM I, 496; cf. Morton & Eden 68, 592). Minor surface marks in fields, otherwise very fine and toned, rare £2,000-£2,600 --- Provenance: Baldwin Auction 87, 7 May 2014, lot 1788. Princess Mary (1631-60), the 9-year old eldest daughter of Charles I, was married to Prince William II of Orange, then aged 14, in May 1641 but, by the terms of the marriage contract, she was expected to remain in England until the age of 12. However, the increasingly serious political situation in England forced the royal family to move to Hampton Court and, in February 1642, Mary and her mother, Henrietta Maria, left for The Hague. Mary would only end up spending a few years in the Netherlands with her husband before he died of smallpox in November 1650, and only eight days after losing him did she give birth to the future king of England, William III of Orange. She gave great support to her older brother, the future Charles II, while he was in exile and was an avid supporter of the restoration of the monarchy; however, this made her increasingly unpopular in the Netherlands, as did her strained relationship with her mother-in-law, Amalia of Solms-Braunfels (1602-75), who thought the princess young and inexperienced. At the restoration of the English monarchy in 1660 Mary returned to London for celebrations, but contracted smallpox and died on Christmas Eve
