British War Medal 1914-20 (19774 Pte. A. E. Buxton. Notts. & Derby. R.) good very fine £60-£80 --- M.M. London Gazette 2 November 1917. Albert Edward Buxton was born in Aldershot in 1896 and attested for the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Initially posted to the Gallipoli theatre of operations, he subsequently served with the 9th Battalion on the Western Front, and was awarded the Military Medal. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 4 October 1917; he has no known grave and is commemorated upon the Tyne Cot Memorial.

Pair: Private J. Brooks, Royal Munster Fusiliers, who was killed in action on the Western Front on 10 November 1917 British War and Victory Medals (1140 Pte. J. Brooks. R. Mun. Fus.) nearly extremely fine (2) £70-£90 --- Joseph Brooks was born in Radford, Nottinghamshire, and attested for the Royal Munster Fusiliers in Nottingham. He served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War at Gallipoli from 7 August 1915 (also entitled to a 1914-15 Star), before proceeding to the Western Front, and was killed in action on 10 November 1917. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. Sold with copied research.
A FIRST WORLD WAR MEMORIAL PLAQUE TO THOMAS GARDENER BROWN. Thomas Gardiner Brown was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Muir Brown of 4 Church Lane, Gorton, Manchester. An office boy before the War he had a brother and sister. He served as a Private 8086 with the 17th (Service) Battalion (2nd City) D Company, Platoon XIII. He entered the War on the 25th December 1915, wounded on the 10th July 1916 with a gun shot wound and shrapnel to the right shoulder, he is recorded wounded for a second time on 15th August 1916 he was killed in action on the 6th December 1917, he is commemorated at the Tyne Cot Memorial, he was 21 years old. With copied research. CR* Note difference in spelling: Gardiner/Gardener. Slightly rubbed and with hook attached to the reverse for suspension.

Two wooden truncheons with printed decoration, for Special Constables with the dated 1914-1919 commemorating the Great War, one for J.E. Cot... Manchester, and indistinctly stamped by the manufacturer to the tip 'Lindop (?) Manchester the other Edinburgh numbered 528. The second retaining leather strap. 39 cm. CR* Both with some scuffing and marking to the surtfaces.
Indian burial rites.- Hurst (Gunner John) Autograph Letter signed to his sisters, 3¼pp., bifolium, folio, Dum Dum [Greater Kolkata], 17 March, 1834, "my comrade and I were taking a walk through the jungle and we came up with a number of natives, perhaps 8, bearing a deceased friend...on a cot without any other covering than a dirty piece of cotton. The curiosity of myself & friend induced us to follow them and see what they were going to do...I was completely shocked at the conduct and disrespect these people showed to the remains of the dead...", folds, piece from outer margin of second sheet, with some loss of text, a few small holes within text, a few short tears and tape repairs.

SHEPHERD'S HUT, Built by Tasker & Co. of Waterloo Foundry, Andover, pre-1850. An original Tasker & Co. shepherd’s hut, sympathetically refurbished and with insulated walls, electrical wiring, and a combination of new and old corrugated iron sides, painted with durable acrylic paint in 'french grey'. Retaining its original wheels and chassis, this hut has been carefully restored while preserving its historic character, with black steps. To the exterior it features an outdoor light above the stable-style entry door, black door hooks, and ironwork. Side windows provide natural light, while the wood-lined interior creates a warm and inviting space. The raised cot bed at the rear includes storage underneath, and the hut is fitted with electrical points for modern convenience and an original stove floorplate. Manufactured at the Waterloo Foundry in Andover before the company became Tasker & Sons, the nameplate bearing "Tasker & Co." dates this hut to pre-1850. Measures: 9 feet high × 6 feet wide × 11 feet long.
HALF-SIZE BOW TOP CARAVAN, a charming, half-scale gypsy caravan with a canvas roof, painted in a greenish-blue hue with yellow steps, shafts, and undercarriage. Adorned with decorative cream and red scrollwork, along with a horse motif on the door. The caravan sits on pneumatic tyres and features a cosy interior with a cot bed and framed perspex window above. The top half of the front stable-style door comprises two perspex windows. Measures 47 inches wide, 68.5 inches high, and 73 inches long (83 inches with the rear rack extended).
