NORTH BY NORTHWEST (1959) - US One-Sheet, 1966 - This US One-Sheet for Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller is a very rare example of a re-release poster that is considered among collectors to be more desirable than the first release counterpart. In typical Hitchcock fashion, the original 1959 first release design omitted key scenes from the film, such as the crop duster and the climax at Mount Rushmore, in an effort to keep audiences in the dark. This 1966 re-release poster, however, features all of the above to remind cinema-goers of the thrill of their first viewing. This example is presented unrestored with minor handling, fold line wear, and some discolouration along the folds. Dimensions: 104 cm x 69 cm (41" x 27")Condition: Very Fine-Artist: Unknown ArtistVAT Status: M

WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT (1988) - Multi-Character Original Production Drawing - An original character production drawing from Robert Zemeckis' landmark hybrid movie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Tweety, and Betty Boop.Created for the film's iconic final sequence, this historic moment famously marks the first and only time animated characters from rival studios including Disney, Warner Bros., Fleischer, and others appeared together on screen.Drawn on 16-field animation paper in graphite and orange pencil, this image was created for the film's final sequence, where the characters gather around the dipped remains of Judge Doom (indicated by the soft orange outline in the foreground). The use of orange pencil denotes rough positioning and scene planning, while the refined graphite outlines signal this was a traced and finalised element intended for production reference prior to cel painting. Registration marks, scene notation ("237/B1"), faint orange cross pan indicators, and a camera crop line through Bugs Bunny's ears point to its use as a working layout for the animators and camera team. Each character is delicately rendered, ready for ink and paint. This original drawing, featuring classic poses and expressions of some of the most iconic cartoon characters, is a wonderful example of the intricate and detailed processes of animation before colouring and placing it onto film. Dimensions: 32 x 41 cm (12.5" x 16.25")Sold without copyright; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.VAT Status: M

(Bindings) Arthur Young Annals of Agriculture and Other Useful Arts A complete run from vol I to XLV (45 volumes), a uniform full mottled calf library binding, with green spines and red morocco labels, raised bands, and gilt-tooled decorations, ex libris labels Trelissick Library and the Courney Library, marbled endpapers, plates and illustrations, generally a vg set, some spotting here and there, lightly rubbed boards with some slackening joints as to be expected, H. Goldney, 1784 (vol I) and Richard Phillips, 1808 (vol XLV).This multi-volume periodical, published between 1784 and 1815, documents agricultural practices, experiments, and innovations across Britain during a time of significant agrarian transformation. Edited and largely authored by Arthur Young; a renowned writer, traveler, and agricultural reformer, who corresponded with both King George III and Geroge Washington; the Annals served as a vital forum for landowners, farmers, and scientists to exchange practical knowledge, theoretical insights, and empirical observations on farming techniques, land management, crop cultivation, and the rural economy. The inclusion of Annals of Agriculture in the Trelissick Library highlights the intellectual and practical interests of its historic owners, the Daniell family, particularly in matters of estate management and agricultural improvement. Situated in Cornwall, Trelissick would have found direct relevance in the progressive ideas presented in Young’s work. A remarkable set with exceptional provenance.
