Well centred on a broad, heavy flan, almost extremely fine, diffused golden toning amongst light earthen deposits; a very rare and most attractive coin £6,000-£8,000 --- Provenance: Found in Preston Candover (Hampshire) in early 2025 and recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS SUSS-E47373)

Sills writes that “the legend is one of the most finely engraved of any British Iron Age type and the design as a whole is remarkably similar to the reverse of a denarius of Augustus”.
