The first is a circular box honoring the Apollo 11 moon landing. It is decorated with an illustration of an astronaut saluting the American flag, surrounded by the inscription "THE EAGLE HAS LANDED - APOLLO 11." The side band displays patriotic motifs including stars, stripes, and the lunar module with the date JULY 20TH 1969. Inside the lid is a dedication to the 20th anniversary of the first manned lunar landing, naming Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, and Michael Collins. The base is marked with the Smithsonian Institution seal and the Bilston & Battersea backstamp; The second box is an oval-shaped pink enamel piece commemorating ballerina Anna Pavlova. The lid features a delicate portrait of Pavlova in costume, framed by an ornate lace-style border. The inside of the lid is inscribed with her name, lifespan (1881-1931), and details of her Metropolitan Opera debut on February 28th, 1910.
