An incised and moulded turquoise blue glazed revival ware pottery ewer,  Ilkhanid-style, Iran, 20th century On conical foot, the bulbous body rising to a tapering neck, the spout in the form of a ram's head, the handle fashioned as a feeding spout with cup-like mouth, the moulded decoration consisting of felines and ibexes amidst foliage, a band of broken lines above, repaired, restored, possibly with associated and or later shards or elements37cm. highProvenance: Private UK Collection acquired 1959-1960Condition Report: This ewer is repaired and restored from multiple breaks and losses. Some shards or elements may be associate, and or later. A close inspection reveals a variation in hue between the upper part of the spout and feeding spout. The delimitation is seen  by the subdued flange of the neck and the lower part of the handle. Under U. V light the head, neck and cup-like mouth of the feeding spout fluoresce the most suggesting they are the most altered. Most break lines are not filled and show losses and repaints.This lot would require further sustained attention and cleaning.The team would strongly advise an inspection of this property in person before bidding.

It is lightly stained. A light short scratch shows to its body. The foot's edge is split but can easily be repaired. Taking its age and former use into account, this ewer is in good condition overall.

Some surface scratches and minor nicks, as to be expected and commensurate with age and use. An extremely minor twist to the cover, more noticeable at the spout end. Hallmark rather rubbed by still readable. Stitching to the leather wrapping starting to deteriorate at the spout end. Finial leaning a little. Stands well on a flat surface with no wobble.
