Vintage Early 20th-Century Teddy Bear This is a vintage teddy bear, likely dating from the 1910s to the 1930s, made from mohair or a similar fabric. It features jointed limbs for articulation, glass eyes, and hand-stitched black detailing for the nose and mouth. The mohair shows significant wear, with thinning fabric and threadbare areas exposing the base material, indicative of age and extended use. The bear’s paw pads appear to be made of felt, showing fraying and wear, with stitched black claw details. Stuffed with traditional materials such as wood wool (excelsior), it reflects early manufacturing practices. A red satin ribbon tied around the neck is a possible replacement accessory, newer than the bear itself. Approximate height is estimated between 30–40 cm (12–16 inches). This piece may have roots in European or British teddy bear production, with craftsmanship consistent with early brands like Steiff, Farnell, or Chad Valley, but no visible maker's marks are present.
