An iron fire grate, 76cm high, together with a cast iron stick stand (2)Overall condition of the grate is quite heavily rusted and the brick back is damaged. It measures 70w overall and the grate itself is 50w cm. Overall depth including the feet is 37cm. The stand has a broken part along the top edges. These were standing outside the house where we collected, so are weathered and unrestored.
A STEEL AND BRASS FIRE GRATE IN THE GEORGE III STYLE POSSIBLY BY THOMAS ELSLEY, LATE 19TH CENTURY Of serpentine outline with a pierced frieze, urn finials and beaded and punched decoration throughout 86.5cm wide, 70cm high Condition Report: width of the back-plate 48.5cm internal dimensions of the basket- widest 46.5, shortest 38.5cm, depth 18.5cm- 15cm. Panel to back cracked, bottom of basket in fairly good albeit used condition. One front leg loose and will benefit from attention/refixing to ensure better stability. The whole in typical used domestic condition but with regular cleaning and polishing- some rust visible behind to mounts Please see additional images for visual references to condition which form part of this condition report.
