An early 19th century mahogany barometer by J & M Riva Glasgow, and with mercury thermometer. Height 111 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The barometer case is in generally fairly good order. There are some stress fractures to the veneers particularly above and below the hydrometer and between the bottom right-hand corner of the thermometer case and the brass circumference. There is a further stress fracture beneath the spirit level and to certain places on the sides. All brasswork is a little tarnished. The silvering to all dials is a little worn. The adjusting knob operates but the adjusting pointer has slipped from its pivot.
