A pair of Nanking Cargo blue and white porcelain bowls 18th century, of dished circular form with landscape decorated centres, 23cm diameter, together with one other Nanking Cargo bowl, 25cm diameter, a Nanking Cargo imari decorated bowl, 15cm diameter, another Nanking Cargo, including two bowls and two plates and a small collection of other Chinese bluie and white porcelain (13)1752, the Dutch East India Company, ship Geldermalsen, struck a reef on her return journey to the Netherlands and sank in the South China Sea. The cargo of Chinese porcelain was originally potted in Jingdezhen, Jiangzi province then shipped to Nanking for delivery to the Netherlands. The cargo was recovered by Captain Michael Hatcher and his team in 1985 and sold by Christie's Amsterdam on 28 April - 2 May 1985 as 'The Nanking Cargo.
