PIERREPOINT ALBERT: (1905-1992) English hangman, responsible for the execution of 200 people who had been convicted of war crimes in Germany and Austria, as well as high treason, including William Joyce (Lord Haw-Haw). Pierrepoint also executed a number of high-profile murderers including John Haigh, John Christie and Ruth Ellis. A good signed and inscribed 7.5 x 9 photograph of Pierrepoint standing outdoors in a full-length pose at the entrance of a prison, and with one arm oustretched as he reaches for the door knocker on the large wooden doors. Signed by Pierrepoint in blue ink to the verso, ´To Fred, with all best wishes, Albert Pierrepoint´, and dated 1976 in his hand. EX

Wonderful original papers to walls and floors, kitchen with painted built-in dresser and stove, furniture includes a good suite of French painted white wooden furniture with gold embossed trim and flower patterned upholstery, piano with stall, oval table, plant stand and cabinet, other pieces include fine wooden dressing table and cabinet with embossed decoration and six bisque shoulder head dolls, 31” (79cm) high, 25” (63cm) wide, 14” (36cm) deep, (condition: a lovely original house in good condition, normal expected wear).
