18th century, Continental school Oil on canvas Three-quarter length portrait of a lady, wearing a lace-edged red velvet dress applied with pearls, across her forehead are two parchment sheets, one showing an engraving of a traveller in landscape, 70.4cm x 54cm Provenance With John Hurst, Pemberton Road, Victoria, British Columbia in circa 1904, where it was probably sold, along with the contents of the house, and acquired by Gottfrey Bjonsfelt in 1922.
