THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY (TV SERIES, 1995-1996) - Set of Four Beatles Anthology Original Production Animation Cel Setups - A rare set of original hand-painted animation cels created for the landmark Beatles Anthology documentary series produced by Apple Productions.Created at Manga Studios under the supervision of Creative Director Shaun Magher, they feature in a joyful segment centred around Super 8 footage of the Beatles on holiday, playfully frolicking in a swimming pool. In this memorable sequence, Yellow Submarine-style animation is skilfully composited over the live-action footage, with cutaways to animated versions of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr narrating the piece, a loving homage to the original Yellow Submarine feature. The cels are created on 12-field animation celluloid, hand-painted on the reverse using traditional animation paints. The sequences were shot against a chromakey blue background to enable mattes for compositing over the live-action scenes. Notably, only a single background was painted for the sequence used in the Paul and Ringo interview setups. The digital background prints included here are created from that sole production background, enhancing the cel presentations. What elevates this group further is its impeccable provenance, coming directly from Shaun Magher himself, with a letter of authenticity. These are not only rare artefacts from the Anthology - a global media event that redefined the Beatles' story for a new generation - but also a collector's treasure connecting the Fab Four's cultural and animation legacy. Dimensions (largest): 28.75 cm x 33 cm (11.25" x 13")Sold without copyright; see copyright notice in the Buyer's Guide.VAT Status: M
