Locks a little stiff but operational. One drawer missing it's lock. No key with other drawer. Comes apart in approx 17 pieces - largest frieze. Scuffs and wear commensurate with age. Some splits, knocks, losses and repairs throughout commensurate with age and use. Some minor replacements to timbers in places. Traces of historic woodworm damage throughout, which does not appear active. The two pieces of foliate moulding to the crest are currently off but present. General wear, splits and marks to interiors. Doors functioning correctly. Some modern screws visible within. Drawers run smoothly. Drawer fronts a little warped. Joints are sound and solid. Overall the piece would benefit from a little professional cosmetic attention, but is in fair order and is perfectly usable in its current state. Please see additional images.

A Georgian oak double corner cupboard, the upper section with arched panelled doors and opening to a blue painted interior with two shelves, the base with a pair of panelled doors. Height 189 cm, width 118 cm, depth 57 cm.This lot is in one single piece and does not come apart for transportation. The right facing door has a split the full length of its panel, the lower left door is nailed closed. The top left moulding has been glued back on. The right side is poorly nailed and is askew. It has all the usual areas of age related wear and tear, some of the interior back panels are loose and would require pinning back. The right canted edge has a number of holes. The interior has been painted as shown on the photograph, also showing wear and tear. The lower left side has a loss of +/- 7 cm to the edge. Generally the piece has numerous areas of knocks, scratches etc.

Y A REGENCE TORTOISESHELL, BRASS MARQUETRY AND ORMOLU MOUNTED COMMODE IN THE MANNER OF ANDRE CHARLES BOULLE, CIRCA 1720 Scarlet tortoiseshell ground inlaid with gilt brass decoration in the manner of Berain, the top with now inset a tooled leather panel above three long drawers, on bracket feet 88cm high, 127.5cm wide, 61.5cm deep Condition Report: Commode with the marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. As illustrated, commode is in distressed condition overall, and will require significant restoration. The top, with later tooled leather inset, it is possible, the piece originally had a marquetry top which conformed with the rest. A section of ormolu moulding to one side detached but present. It appears that the ormolu elements have been re-gilded or significantly cleaned at some point and re-applied. It appears that the marquetry sections have had a later surface/shallac applied, this has since decayed/worn and has produced a flaky/cloudy surface. Various old repairs in places throughout. Key present but only operates the upper lock. Some evidence of old worm. The feet to one side are detached and broken but present with the lot. Please refer to additional images for visual reference. A GEORGE III MAHOGANY SIDE CABINET CIRCA 1780 The rectangular top with bowed ends above four long drawers flanked by bowed doors, one side enclosing four short conforming drawers 97cm high, 140cm wide, 42cm deep Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks, chips, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use.Observations, losses and restorations include: the top has some pronounced gouges, some constructional line indentations and some bubble like lifting veneers; some veneer losses and replacements; a section of side moulding missing to one drawer; there is some fading to one side; the left door and right door moreso with cracks and slightly warped so that it does not fit flush with the door aperture; the drawers are oak lined with cedar backs; some handles are loose; there is one key that operates the locks of the bowed doors; the lower drawer has something catching and preventing it from being opened.Despite the need for some restoration this cabinet has a clean classical line and it's quality is reflected in the weight, design and materials used in it's construction.Please see all the additional condition report photographs through the link on the condition report email as a visual reference of condition - they are a vital part of this report. One side door locking and two drawers are lacking their lock plates. A key is present but only operates the lock to the central doors. One drawer is locked shut. Various losses, repairs and replacement to the carved and moulding elements in places - see images. To the backs of the glazed doors a large amount of the original putty holding the glazing in position is lacking. One door has various later putty applied. A WILLIAM & MARY OLIVEWOOD 'OYSTER' VENEERED CHEST ON STAND CIRCA 1690 111cm high, 92cm wide, 63cm deep overall Condition Report: The marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old splits, chips and losses. Various old repairs with some sections of replacement moulding and veneer in areas throughout. Some areas of surface with filler applied (such as an area to the centre of the top). Surface appears to have had a polish at some point in the past. Some sections of veneer lifting slightly in places. The escutcheons and handles are later replacements. There are old plugged holes and some inset sections of replacement veneer to drawer fronts from where fixtures have been replaced. Handles are in period taste.Locks are old replacements and vary from one another. No key is present but all locks are open. The lock plate to the drawer of the stand is lacking and has been replaced by a section of replacement timber. The expected evidence of old worm in places - see images for details. The legs, stretcher and feet have age but are all later. This is often seen on pieces of this type and period and these elements are well matched to the rest of the piece. John Watts of Canterbury - early 18th century 8-day oak longcase clock, with a flat topped hood, broad cornice, dentil moulding and blind fret beneath, baluster turned pilasters with wooden capitals flanking the square hood door, trunk with recessed beaded edge and a long ogee topped door with crossbanding, plinth with applied skirting, square brass dial with matching steel hands, cast spandrels and a matted and engraved centre, date aperture, seconds ring and ring turned winding apertures, silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, five minute Arabics, minute and quarter hour tracks, five pillar movement with a recoil anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike, sounding the hours on a bell. Patrick Forrester of Hull-early 19th century 8-day oak and mahogany longcase, c1830, With a pagoda pediment and three matching ball and spire finials, break arch hood door beneath flanked by reeded pilasters with brass capitals, trunk with canted corners and a full length break arch topped door with crossbanding, on a square plinth with an applied moulding to the base, fully painted dial with matching spandrels and a scene of a huntsman to the arch, with Roman numerals, fifteen minute Arabic's, stamped brass hands, seconds dial and date aperture, dial pinned via a falseplate to a rack striking movement, striking the hours on a bell. With key, weights and pendulum. A good example of this refined design of case popular in the East Riding of Yorkshire and London, the hood is of particularly good proportions.Patrick Forrester is listed as working in Hull 1813-1840, also as a Jeweller and Goldsmith. With brass cased weights and pendulum. Joseph Saer is recorded as working from Penpool Lane, London, from 1687-1704 and is mentioned as an early member of the London Clockmakers Company. Samuel Martin of Bath-Regency period mahogany 8-day bracket clock, c1830, arched top with a four sided and domed socle with a mahogany turned urn, sides with brass fish-scale sound frets and lions head handles, case front with engraved brass banding to the edge, on a narrow moulded plinth raised on bun feet with beaded moulding and conforming moulding to the case front, silvered dial with Roman numerals, makers name, steel moon hands and alarm disc within a glazed cast brass bezel, dial pinned to a twin train wire driven fusee movement with a recoil anchor escapement and rack striking, sounding the hours on a bell, rear movement plate with a decorative engraved border to the edge and pendulum keep screw. An early 19th Century oak cased longcase clock by E. hoy of Whissonsett, painted arch dial with gilt flower corner decoration and lakeside mansion scene to top, signed with Roman numerals and subsidiary dial also with a calendar wheel, hood with column supports and case door with mahogany moulding decoration, with weights and pendulum. Approximately 218cm tall.
A pair of fine quality Victorian period Girandoles, each with Bacchus cherub surmounted, surrounded by vine leaves and grapes in relief, the central oval mirror surrounded egg n' dart moulding issuing three scrolled candle sconces with cartouche base, each approx. 117cms high x 71cms wide (47" x 28").
