JAMES BOND: GOLDFINGER (1964) - David Frangioni Collection: US 24-Sheet, 1965 - A US 24-sheet poster from the promotion of Guy Hamilton's Bond film Goldfinger. The design of this huge and incredibly rare 24-sheet poster is perfectly suited to the format. A massive image of the famous gold-painted Margaret Nolan (while Shirley Eaton was painted gold in the film it is Nolan who is on the poster) is stretched over roughly 20 feet. Nolan completely dominates the design, with the face of Sean Connery tactfully placed to appease the censors. There are some minor areas of paper loss and a few larger tears on some panels. One panel has red ink on the reverse, which has bled through to the white lettering of "Goldfinger". However, the poster is in very good overall condition. Dimensions (approx.): 275 cm x 610 cm (108.25" x 240.25")Condition: FineArtist: Unknown ArtistAdditional Provenance:David Frangioni is a published author, music businessman, producer, technologist, engineer, philanthropist, and drummer. STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE JEDI (1982) - Framed US One-Sheet - Undated - Rolled, 1982 - An original, undated and rolled US One-Sheet teaser poster featuring Drew Struzan's artwork for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. This movie initially had the working title of Revenge of the Jedi (with teaser posters printed with this title), but the title "Revenge" was dropped as it was thought to be the unbecoming of a Jedi. These teasers were distributed in dated and undated versions, with this example being the much scarcer undated version. To add to the rarity, this poster is also rolled and unrestored with very minor handling wear, making it a true collector's piece. JAWS (1975) - Hand-Numbered Limited Edition Screen Print by Laurent Durieux, 2013 - A highly sought-after limited edition alternative movie poster created by artist Laurent Durieux for Steven Spielberg's thriller Jaws. Durieux's unique style is instantly identifiable, with his creations among the most desirable artworks in the alternative movie poster market. This design is one of those most coveted by collectors. It was released in 2013 through Mondo and even attracted the attention of Spielberg himself, who allegedly ordered 25 copies to give to close friends and family.Durieux created this image as a contrast to Roger Kastel's iconic shark design for the original marketing campaign. The postcard-esque scene appears idyllic, yet the black panel on the beach umbrella creates a feeling of unease. Printed by DL Screenprinting, this example is hand-numbered #54/525. JAWS 2 (1978) - David Frangioni Collection: US Theatre Entrance Display, 1978 - A truly awesome theatre entrance display for the sequel to Steven Spielberg's blockbuster sensation. This large poster was designed to be a standee that, when cut out and assembled, would sit in an arch over the theatre doorway, so moviegoers had to walk through the mouth of the shark (a whopping 6' 8" tall!) in order to gain entry. Because the assembly of the display requires cutting the paper, many of these pieces have not survived in their original uncut condition making this a brilliant centrepiece for any Jaws collector. Some handling wear and a few large tears (largest being 9 cm) which, relative to the size of the poster, are quite minimal. Some discolouration to the whites in places and very minor paper loss around some edges. Assembly instructions are included in this lot. Dimensions (approx.): 96" x 144" (2.4 x 3.6 m)Condition: Very Fine-Artist: Unknown ArtistAdditional Provenance:David Frangioni is a published author, music businessman, producer, technologist, engineer, philanthropist, and drummer. STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980) - US International Six-Sheet - By 1980 the hype for the sequel to Star Wars was unprecedented, with millions of fans on tenterhooks to see the continuing adventures of their favourite space heroes. Darth Vader's head dominates this imposing US Six-Sheet, which arguably looks more like a recruitment poster for the Empire than a movie poster.Printed in two sections designed to overlap, these much rarer large format posters are increasingly prized by collectors. This example is unrestored with minor handling wear and some cross-fold separation. Dimensions: (approx.) 196 cm x 196 cm (77" x 77").Condition: Very FineArtist: Bob PeakVAT Status: M
PINK FLOYD: THE WALL (1982) - The Judge Original Production Cel and Matching Drawing - An original hand-painted production cel and matching production drawing of The Judge, used in the making of Alan Parker's Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982) with animation designed and directed by British satirical illustrator and artist Gerald Scarfe. This grotesque and imposing creation - a towering figure formed entirely of buttocks, with a grimacing mouth at its centre - is one of Scarfe's most infamous and unforgettable designs. As the embodiment of judicial power in Pink's nightmarish internal trial, the Judge delivers the final command to "Tear down the wall" and vomits a montage of clips from the movie. The cel, hand-painted on acetate and placed over a printed background, bears the official seal from Pink Floyd: The Wall's Animation Art Programme. Paired with its matching production drawing, this piece encapsulates the humour, horror, and surreal edge that defines Scarfe's vision. The drawing displays some marks, notably near the bottom edge. COOL HAND LUKE (1967) - UK Quad, 1967 - Linen-Backed - A scarce UK Quad for one of Paul Newman's standout roles as non-conformist chain gang prisoner Cool Hand Luke. Despite being repeatedly reprimanded for failing to fall in line, Luke fights authority at every turn resulting in beatings and psychological intimidation in effort to break a man who seemingly cannot be broken. The consequences of Luke's rebellious nature are reflected in the design of this poster which features images of him being scarred, beaten, punched and dragged, but will audiences still see Newman's signature smile by the end of the movie?Conservation linen-backed with border and fold line restoration as well as work to the whites surrounding the credits, some of the yellow and scattered areas where needed but done to a high standard. TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA (1970) - UK Quad, 1970 - Linen-Backed - A country of origin UK Quad film poster for Hammer Horror's 1970 Victorian vampire gore-fest Taste The Blood of Dracula. Tom Chantrell produced a classic horror poster using a striking black and white close-up of Christopher Lee's titular Count surrounded by a cascade of blood red to create Hammer's goriest poster yet. The tagline "Drink a pint of blood a day" indicated the campier, tongue-in-cheek direction that the studio was taking at the start of the 1970s. A desirable item of Hammer Horror memorabilia and one of the most memorable Dracula movie posters produced by any studio.Conservation linen-backed with fold line restoration as well as several areas of paper replacement around the borders. JAMES BOND: A VIEW TO A KILL (1985) - David Frangioni Collection: Withdrawn UK One-Sheet, 1985 - A withdrawn UK One-Sheet for the Roger Moore James Bond film A View To A Kill (1985). This Brian Bysouth poster illustration was based on a design by Vic Fair and pitches Roger Moore's Bond alongside his key protagonist May Day played by Grace Jones. The use of a white tuxedo was considered inappropriate (despite wearing white in the movie) and this poster was recalled making surviving examples relatively scarce.Unrestored and rolled with handling and edge wear around the bottom two corners. CURSE OF THE DEMON (1957) - Collection of Lobby Cards, Promotional Stills and Posters - A collection of lobby cards, promotional stills and two posters for the British horror film Night of the Demon (known in the US as Curse of the Demon). The director never intended to show the titular demon on-screen, leaving that to the audience's imagination. Still, he was overruled on this point by the producer, who inserted a shot of the monster at the beginning and end of the film without Tourneur's knowledge or participation. The lot comprises six US colour lobby cards (one is a reproduction card), five Spanish lobby cards, seven Mexican lobby cards featuring two different designs, a copy of Photon fanzine number 26, a print of the one-sheet poster, an Australian daybill poster and a linen-backed Belgian poster. DIRTY HARRY (1971) - David Frangioni Collection: UK Quad, 1971 - One of the defining films of the 1970s, Dirty Harry was the film that took Clint Eastwood from a cult hero to a mainstream superstar. Eastwood carved out a violent niche in the cinema with his portrayal of 'Dirty Harry Callahan' in this, the first in the popular series about a San Francisco detective who makes his own rules. He may be beaten up but never beaten by the criminals or by authority. This first release ABC UK Quad poster features Bill Gold's distinctive design and artwork.Unrestored and folded with pinholes and edge wear. There is a large stain across the middle of the poster which does affect the main image. We have been advised by a professional paper restorer that this stain can be removed if cleaned and backed. MANY ADVENTURES OF WINNIE THE POOH, THE (1977) - Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore Original Production Animation Cel Pairing - A combination of two original production cels used in the making of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977). This full-length feature combined three much-loved featurettes: Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966), Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968), and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (1974), into a single theatrical release. Together, they brought A.A. Milne's timeless stories and E.H. Shepard's gentle illustrations to life for generations of audiences. The Eeyore cel can be found in the first featurette just after having his tail pinned back on. The Winnie the Pooh cel appears later in the movie.Disney's interpretation of Pooh and friends became a global cultural phenomenon, celebrated for its warmth, humour, and the simple but profound charm of its characters. While Shepard's original artwork remains iconic in literary circles, Disney's animated designs introduced Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger to millions worldwide, embedding them deeply in pop culture. The cels feature a delicate sketch-style xerographic ink line, preserving both the animators' pencil work and the clean finish. They are presented on a printed background typical of Disneyland Art Corner releases. This nostalgic touch reflects the classic style of how Disney first made these works available to the public. The series' universal themes of friendship, curiosity, and kindness have resonated across decades, making it one of the most beloved properties in Disney's portfolio and one of the few adaptations to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the original literary source. WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT (1988) - Multi-Character Original Production Drawing - An original character production drawing from Robert Zemeckis' landmark hybrid movie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Tweety, and Betty Boop.Created for the film's iconic final sequence, this historic moment famously marks the first and only time animated characters from rival studios including Disney, Warner Bros., Fleischer, and others appeared together on screen.Drawn on 16-field animation paper in graphite and orange pencil, this image was created for the film's final sequence, where the characters gather around the dipped remains of Judge Doom (indicated by the soft orange outline in the foreground). The use of orange pencil denotes rough positioning and scene planning, while the refined graphite outlines signal this was a traced and finalised element intended for production reference prior to cel painting. Registration marks, scene notation ("237/B1"), faint orange cross pan indicators, and a camera crop line through Bugs Bunny's ears point to its use as a working layout for the animators and camera team. Each character is delicately rendered, ready for ink and paint. This original drawing, featuring classic poses and expressions of some of the most iconic cartoon characters, is a wonderful example of the intricate and detailed processes of animation before colouring and placing it onto film.
