Personally owned and signed four times, with a near full page written about courts in his hand. Colonel Thomas Dawes (1731-1809) was an American Revolutionary War Patriot who served as a Massachusetts Militia Colonel; afterward assumed prominent positions in Massachusetts government. He was also an architect and builder who designed many of the most notable buildings in Boston, including the Old Street House and the Brattle Street Church. The cousin of William Dawes who rode to warn "The British Are Coming," along with Paul Revere On His "Midnight Ride". Bound in leather with decoration on front and back boards. 4to.
