Introduced as a concept car at the January 2003 North American International Auto Show, the FJ Cruiser was approved for production after positive consumer response and debuted at the January 2005 North American International Auto Show in final production form. It features a short wheelbase, stocky frame, and grille-headlight arrangement much like the original FJ40. Other throwback design cues include a nearly vertical windshield with three windshield wipers for maximum surface area coverage. The FJ's body features rear opening access doors that give a unique look to the SUV. Special high-strength steel was used to give the vehicle side impact protection without the need for a door pillar. The interior of the FJ features many design elements focused on enhancing off-road practicality. All interior surfaces are covered with washable rubber materials to aid in fast cleanup after heavy outdoor use. The FJ also incorporates oversized controls to aid drivers with gloved hands. The ‘Final Edition’ of the FJ Cruiser went on sale in Japan on 12th September 2017 and sales were discontinued there on 31st January 2018.This great example of this striking Toyota FJ Cruiser from Japan, is presented in bright orange with a white roof. It has only covered 26,169 miles and performs and drives commensurate with this exceptionally low mileage. An iconic legend that was sadly never available in the UK, fitted with a super smooth V6 4.0 petrol engine, selectable 4x4 automatic transmission and very expensive off-road wheels and tyres, it is based on the mechanicals and short chassis of the Land Cruiser, enough said! Offered with air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows and not a whole lot else, this car is designed to be good looking but not pretty, tough, last for ever and not go wrong. Presented with a mileage guarantee certificate and serviced immediately prior to auction, this FJ is in fabulous condition and all importantly ULEZ exempt! A MAHOGANY AND BRASS MOUNTED COUNTRY HOUSE LETTERBOX, the domed octagonal top with central roundel above a rectangular letter slide, the body with cupboard door applied with paper-slip register, on circular plinth base, 43cm high, 25cm diameterThe Late Victorian and Early Edwardian period, 1870–1910 has been acknowledged as the apex of popularity for these charming desktop post-boxes. A favourite of the aristocracy, they were generally found in a country house estate or foyer of a well-appointed hotel and accumulated letters from the family as well as those in the employ of the house. The footman was then charged with emptying the box and transporting its valuable content to the local post-office every day, twice a day. It is worth noting that the street post-boxes and pillar boxes that have become so iconic today were only introduced to the Great Britain in 1853 and so we can assume that this early model was installed in quite a sophisticated and affluent home.
