A William & Mary bracket timepiece by Joseph Williamson, London, in a later burr yew case, the 17cm brass dial with 5 pillar single fusee verge movement, winged mask spandrels, silvered chapter ring signed below ‘Williamson, London’, central alarm disc, shaped hands, date aperture, scroll engraved and signed backplate, shaped pierced back-cock, pull cord, the glazed case on bun feet36cm high, 27cm widePlease note this is a timepiece with alarm bell activated by a pull cord. It is currently ticking. It does not strike the hours. It all looks quite clean; the case is very well made, has some age but is 20th century. Wind/going duration not known.
An ebonised table clock signed William Tomlinson, London, circa 1700, the gilt metal mounted case with folding brass figural cast handle, the 17.5cm dial signed above strike/silent lever, with gilt winged mask spandrels, silvered chapter ring, mock pendulum and date apertures to the centre, seven pillar verge movement with foliate engraved signed backplate, pull repeat on 4 bells and striking on a further bell, all on disc and claw brass feet 38cm high (handle folded), 28cm wide Noted that the crown wheel escapement needs some attention as the escapement does not interlock properly and the wheel jumps around as the pendulum swings. The pull quarter repeat is currently working. Brass retaining brackets look later and there are different position holes to case side for previous fixing (?) Possibly a married case therefore. Some age scratches to the case; replacement hinges to both doors. Private ownership of a deceased collector. Please see photos.

Henry Fisher of Preston (Lancs)- a fine late 18th century Mahogany 8-day longcase clock c 1790, with a swan necked pediment, brass paterie and Verre Eglomise glass panels with a blue ground beneath, broken arch hood door flanked by reeded pilasters with brass Corinthian capitals, trunk with inset reeded quarter columns and a wavy topped door in figured mahogany, plinth with conforming canted corners, raised panel and bracket feet, with an early Wilson painted dial comprising a colourful depiction of birds of paradise to the centre and a working lunar disc to the arch, with painted floral spandrels within gesso borders and matching steel hands, Roman numerals, five-minute Arabic's, minute markers and matching seconds and date dials, dial pinned via a cast Wilson falseplate to a rack striking four-pillar movement, striking the hours on a bell. THE CHURNING OF THE OCEAN OF MILK (SAMUDRA MANTHANA) PROPERTY FROM A CANADIAN COLLECTION Possibly Jaipur or Bikaner, Rajasthan, North-Western India, second half 19th century Opaque pigments and ink heightened with gold on wove paper, depicting the Hindu God Vishnu, Lord of Preservation, seated on a low throne at the top of a pillar, supposedly a stylised representation of Mount Mandara, holding his typical attributes (conch shell, lotus flower, mace and quoit), the pillar surrected by Kurma the Tortoise, Vishnu's second avatara, on each side the factions of Good and Evil represented respectively by the Hindu Gods Brahma and Shiva on one side and two horned demons (divs) on the latter, each party holding tight the serpent Vasuki as a rope to turn Mount Mandara, the demons tricked into pulling the head of the snake and weakened by its poisonous breath, the outfits of the Hindu gods and the pillar covered in repeating miniature pseudo-nagari letters, possibly representing the sacred monosyllable aum, set within concentric polychrome rules and gold-speckled brown and dark orange borders.35.5cm x 27.5cm 35.5cm x 27.5cm Qty: 1

Mappin Brothers; A Pair of Victorian Highly Decorative Hallmarked Silver Candlesticks, Sheffield 1890, each of pillar design with feather detailed finial, on square spreading base (weighted), decorated with scrolling foliage and urn design, gadrooned to rim, each approximately 19cm high.Both candlesticks rock on a flat surface, one also appears to have a slight tilt. Visible dents to lower part and stepped base.
