Crafted by master Italian sculptor Antonio Borsato, this porcelain figurine depicts a gaunt, elderly man holding a candle close to his chest as he peers forward with a cautious, inquisitive expression. Barefoot and cloaked in a worn rust-colored robe with a teal cap, he stands atop a wooden plank-style base that enhances the rustic, narrative quality of the piece. Borsato's signature attention to gesture and emotion is evident in the detailed facial expression and elongated posture. The underside features the impressed A. Borsato MADE IN ITALY mark, along with original factory felt and foil labels from the artist's Milano studio.
