JAMES BOND: GOLDFINGER (1964) - David Frangioni Collection: US 24-Sheet, 1965 - A US 24-sheet poster from the promotion of Guy Hamilton's Bond film Goldfinger. The design of this huge and incredibly rare 24-sheet poster is perfectly suited to the format. STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980) - British Royal Charity World Premiere Empire Day Poster, 1980 - The British Royal Charity World Premiere (or "Empire Day") poster is one of the rarest pieces of marketing material for The Empire Strikes Back and the Star Wars franchise as a whole. Designed by Eddie Paul of FEREF with finished artwork by Ralph McQuarrie, the image of Vader's head is adapted from McQuarrie's distinctive "Vader in Flames" design that collectors will recognise from the film's crew patches. As stated on the poster, "Empire Day" took place in London on the 20th May 1980. This date was very close to the original British Empire Day held annually on Queen Victoria's birthday (24th May) between 1916 and 1958.The 20th Century Fox marketing department took full advantage of the film's release date as an army of Stormtroopers - in Jeeps and on foot - took to the streets of London, holding placards of this poster to build up the crowd's already heightened excitement for the much-anticipated sequel.Presented unrestored with a couple of minor surface creases (in the red under the date and under Vader's right eye), some very subtle discolouration to the surrounding whites, and some minor handing wear including a 2 cm tear on the bottom border. Dimensions: 57 cm x 41 cm (22.25" x 16.25")Condition: Fine+Artist: Eddie Paul, Ralph McQuarrieVAT Status: M

STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) - Reward Poster - The launch of home video machines during the late 1970s gave birth to the crime of video piracy. The machines afforded thieves a more convenient way to record and spread their illegal copies and allowed audiences to watch movies in the comfort of their homes. Unsurprisingly, the popularity of the Star Wars franchise and its much-anticipated third instalment led many a bootlegger to steal cinema film reels. To combat this, 20th Century Fox and Classic Cinemas created this 'Reward' poster offering 5,000 for any information about thefts and warning that any VHS tape copies found for sale were illegal. The original posters were printed in sets of two on one piece of paper (British Double Crown size) and then cut after printing, making one border thinner than the other. This example is folded with some creasing, nicks and tears around the border, and a few very small areas of paper loss on the edges. Romero, Hal Holbrook, Ted Danson, Ed Harris, Adrienne Barbeau and Others Autographed US International One-Sheet, 1982 - This original US One-Sheet for George A. Romero's horror compilation piece Creepshow (1982) features a fantastic EC-Comic-inspired design by Neal Adams and Jack Kamen. It encompasses the dread yet fun aesthetic of early 80s anthology films. However, this example is uncommon as it displays an array of autographs from all of the cast members, many of whom have sadly passed away. The autographs include Leslie Nielsen (Richard Vickers), director George A. Romero, Hal Holbrook (Henry Northup), Ted Danson (Harry Wentworth), Ed Harris (Hank Blaine), Adrienne Barbeau (Wilma "Billie" Northup), E.G. JAWS (1975) - Hand-Numbered Limited Edition Screen Print by Laurent Durieux, 2013 - A highly sought-after limited edition alternative movie poster created by artist Laurent Durieux for Steven Spielberg's thriller Jaws. Durieux's unique style is instantly identifiable, with his creations among the most desirable artworks in the alternative movie poster market. This design is one of those most coveted by collectors. It was released in 2013 through Mondo and even attracted the attention of Spielberg himself, who allegedly ordered 25 copies to give to close friends and family.Durieux created this image as a contrast to Roger Kastel's iconic shark design for the original marketing campaign. The postcard-esque scene appears idyllic, yet the black panel on the beach umbrella creates a feeling of unease. Printed by DL Screenprinting, this example is hand-numbered #54/525. JAWS 2 (1978) - David Frangioni Collection: US Theatre Entrance Display, 1978 - A truly awesome theatre entrance display for the sequel to Steven Spielberg's blockbuster sensation. This large poster was designed to be a standee that, when cut out and assembled, would sit in an arch over the theatre doorway, so moviegoers had to walk through the mouth of the shark (a whopping 6' 8" tall!) in order to gain entry. Because the assembly of the display requires cutting the paper, many of these pieces have not survived in their original uncut condition making this a brilliant centrepiece for any Jaws collector. Some handling wear and a few large tears (largest being 9 cm) which, relative to the size of the poster, are quite minimal. Some discolouration to the whites in places and very minor paper loss around some edges. Assembly instructions are included in this lot. Produced by Drissi Advertising, these lamp posts were issued to high-profile cinemas to promote the film. It is rare to find one of these as a complete item, as many were disassembled and disposed of after use, with only the "Wanted" poster section retained. The lamp post is made of card and features a lenticular "Wanted" poster of Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), in which Black disappears and reappears depending on the viewing angle. ALIEN (1979) - US One-Sheet Teaser, 1979 - The worldwide marketing campaign for Ridley Scott's Alien (1979) is instantly recognisable by the (now) iconic alien egg imagery designed by the creative agency Bemis Balkind. But before that, the much-respected poster artist Bill Gold was commissioned by American distributors to create a 'teaser' poster which began to appear in late 1978. H. R. Giger's iconic xenomorph design was to be kept secret for audiences so Gold instead played with the title by having it repeat to form the substance of the poster. This scare example is unrestored with minor fold line wear, some nicks and tears around the borders as well as a small area of paper loss in the top left corner.
