Während er zu Beginn einige Versuche mit weiblichen Aktdarstellungen unternimmt, entstehen schon bald im Laufe der ersten Monate auch kraftvolle Stierplastiken.Arentz' umfassende Kenntnisse der tierischen Anatomie und seine Fähigkeit, „durch das Fell“ zu denken, kommen in der präzisen Darstellung des Tieres deutlich zum Vorschein. Über sein gesamtes Werk hinweg fertigt Arentz Tierskulpturen stets ohne vorherige Skizzen oder Studien an.
