A Copeland Spode trio for the Royal Yacht H.M.Y. Victoria and Albert III from the official state dinner service for King Edward VII, in the gold and royal blue pattern sometimes referred to as the Garter Service, with a repeating design around the edge, the cypher garter crest of the yacht on the cup and saucer, maker's marks to the reverse, largest saucer 18cm diameter, cup 12 by 6.3cm high. (3) Provenance: Gifted to an ex-Royal yacht crew member. Notes: Much admired by the German Kaiser that he had the service copied for his own yacht. The majority of the undamaged service was kept by the British Royal Family after Britannia was decommissioned in 1997.
A charming set of three demitasse cups and saucers by Copeland Spode, England, each beautifully decorated with traditional English fox hunting scenes. The cups feature vivid illustrations of riders on horseback in red hunting coats accompanied by hounds, while the reverse of each cup displays a leaping fox motif named The Chase, The Death and Taking the Lead . Each matching saucer depicts a detailed hunting scene with titles including The Last Draw, Well Cleared, and Gone Away. All pieces are marked Copeland Spode England on the underside, along with the respective scene titles.
