An unusual German erotic subject glass stein - early 20th century, the moulded glass stein with a part-frosted firefighter motif to the front below the gilt intaglio script 'Josef Eiselt', the pewter lid with an inset porcelain plaque, the upper face painted with a huntsman and his dog in a landscape, the underside with an amorous scene of the same huntsman and a lady companion, titled 'Jagerlust', 20.75cm high.* Small soldered repair to one side of the joint between the hinge and the lid. Some gilt loss to lettering and scratching and one tiny frit to the base. No other faults - good overall.

A small group of collectables - including a miniature novelty silver plated butter dish in the form of an entree dish, 11.5cm long; an Indian knife with carved hardwood and brass grip and sheath, 33cm long; a carved hardwood frog doorstop; a carved hardstone and gilt metal bunch of grapes; a cased pair of Wedgwood jasperware thimbles; a three piece EPNS cruet set; and a miniature German stoneware stein and tankard (tiny chip to foot).

A 19th century German earthenware pewter-mounted stein - of globular baluster form with moulded decoration of a cavalier and a friar at a tavern table, incised gothic-style script to both sides and the neck, the domed pewter lid with anthemion thumbpiece, on a stepped pedestal foot, with faint painted mark 'No 20', 22.5cm high, old chips and glaze loss to foot.* Two chips and a patch of glaze loss to edge of foot. Glaze crazing throughout. Slight split to pewter just below thumbpiece, but it is very old damage and stable.

Arno Breker (1900 - 1991) - Portraitkopf von General Hermann von der Lieth-Thomsen, um 1935 Bronze, braun patiniert, links am Hals das Künstlermonogramm "A.B.". Überlebensgroßer vollplastischer Portraitkopf, am Kragen der Uniform der Orden Pour le Mérite. Auf 20 cm hohem würfelförmigen Sockel aus poliertem schwarzen Stein. Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren. Gesamthöhe 69 cm.Dazu ausführliche Provenienzpapiere, die die Aufstellung der Bronze im Reichsluftfahrtministerium 1936 und die Urheberschaft Arno Brekers belegen.Hermann von der Lieth-Thomsen (1867 - 1942) war ein deutscher General der Flieger, der als Mitbegründer der deutschen Luftstreitkräfte gilt. Am 20.3.1911 zum Major befördert, wirkte er 1913 bei der Inspektion des Militär-Luft- und Kraftfahrwesens. Bei Beginn des Ersten Weltkrieges wurde er als Generalstabsoffizier des Luftschiffes Z V an der Ostfront eingesetzt. Ab 27.3.1915 fungierte er als Chef des Feldflugwesens beim Großen Hauptquartier (Oberste Heeresleitung). Am 10.8.1916 ließ er die ersten Jagdstaffeln nach Oswald Boelckes Vorschlägen aufstellen. Thomsen wurde am 8.4.1917 mit dem Orden Pour le Mérite ausgezeichnet.

Good overall. The impressions superb to excellent and chalky in appearance.

* DANNY FERGUSON RSW RGI (SCOTTISH 1925 - 1993), WILD FLOWERS oil on board, signedframed and under glassimage size 59cm x 59cm, overall size 76cm x 76cm Note: Danny Ferguson was educated at Airdrie Academy from 1936-1942. He was an athletic youngster, playing football for (amongst others) Baillieston Juniors, Bedlay Juniors, Douglas Water Thistle and Blantyre Victoria (taking over the centre-half position from Jock Stein). Later in life, he was a keen snooker player, frequently championing the Glasgow Art Club, and enjoyed Curling. He began studying at GSA in 1941 but his studies were interrupted when he was called up. He joined the Royal Air Force in 1943 and served in the Far East. He re-joined GSA in 1947 and was awarded his diploma in Drawing and Painting in 1949. That same year he won a £30 prize at the Royal Scottish Academy annual competitions. From 1949-1950 he attended the Jordanhill Teacher Training College. He later combined a position as visiting lecturer at GSA with teaching in various Glasgow Schools. He returned to GSA as a full-time lecturer in 1968. In 1958 Ferguson married Margaret Dunn, also a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, in Embroidery and Weaving. They had two children, Anne and David. Probably best known for his landscapes, still lifes and self-portraits. He exhibited regularly, had numerous one-man shows, and his work still hangs in many collections, including the Royal Collection. Danny Ferguson was elected a member of the RSW in 1969, having exhibited there from 1961. He had over 88 works exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute, from 1957. He was a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour. Ferguson also served as honorary secretary of the RGI for nine years and was also elected President of the Glasgow Art Club.

Mit dem Namenszug in der Plinthe sowie dem Verlegerstempel von Edition Euro Art, Wien und dem Gießerstempel von Venturi Arte, Bologna. Höhe: 44 cm. Breite: 13 cm. Tiefe: 13 cm. Urteil studierte 1953 an der Meisterschule für Bildhauerei bei F. Wotruba in Wien, zu seinen Kommilitonen gehören J. Avramidis, A. Hrdlicka und R. Goeschl. Nach Studienreisen bezog er 1956 ein gemeinsames Atelier mit J. Ortner und hatte ab 1961 einen Lehrauftrag für Steinbildhauerei an der Meisterschule von F. Wotruba inne. „Der Künstler gilt als Hauptvertreter der informellen Skulptur in Europa. Seine Materialien sind Stein, Holz, Zement- und Bronzeguss. Obzwar ihm durch seinen frühen Krebstod nur wenige Jahre zur Verfügung standen, konnte er in mehreren aufeinander folgenden Phasen ein ausgesprochen intensives, in sich geschlossenes Werk schaffen. Ausgangspunkt ist die menschliche Gestalt mit ihren anatomischen Gesetzmäßigkeiten... Ab 1955/56 baut er die Figur als additive, markant voneinander getrennte Konstruktion aus einzelnen Körperpartien auf. Er schildert die Figurationen als spannungsvolles Kontinuum gegensätzlich fließender Bewegungen im Übergang von einer Handlung zur nächsten mit der Dehnung und Biegung der Glieder, wobei widerstreitende Kräfte zwischen Komprimierung und Zerfallen, Innehalten und Veränderung, Ordnung und Unruhe zum Ausdruck kommen“ (AOW/AKL; online).
