Three walking sticks or canes and a swordstick, comprising an early-mid 19thC hardwood gentleman 'boulevardier's' cane, with hole for wrist strap/cord and two gold plated shield-shaped escutcheons and faceted metal ferrule, the pommel with dark mother of pearl faceted panels, gold plated shoulders embossed with acanthus leaves, and mother of pearl disc finial, 91cm long; a bamboo cane swordstick, the unmarked and tarnished blade 40.5cm long, 88cm long; a hardwood cane finished in black with embossed silver pommel with R.N maker's mark and London hallmarks for 1889 and with metal ferrule, 91cm long; and a short light wood cane with silver plated pommel stamped 'WH' and silver collar engraved 'J.Jarratt', with 'WH' maker's mark and Birmingham hallmarks for 1912, with replaced ferrule, 78cm long. (4)CONDITION: Boulevardier's cane intact and sturdy with signs of wear to shaft, a patch of rubbing to plating on one shield, mother of pearl facets intact and original, wear and pitting to gold plating, and a loss to the bottom of the edge of the disc. Bamboo swordstick cane intact and sturdy with signs of use, blade tarnished but with original tip. Silver topped cane with signs of surface wear as expected, pommel loose and a little worn from use, but seemingly intact with no major dents or splits. An Edwardian Malacca Swordstick, the 68cm triangular section steel blade half blued and gilt with tendrils, with silver plated collar and polished horn angular handle, with brass ferrule, 89cmBlade in good clean condition. Minor scuffing to the malacca haft. The horn handle has a silver strengthening plate to the angle where the horn has split.
A late 19th century swordstick with square-section blade, blade length 54cm, stamped 'St Etienne', hazelwood shaft and applied rhinoceros horn handle (some splits to top of shaft). A Late 19th Century Continental Swordstick, 19.5ins bright steel cruciform blade, with a leather covered hilt, cane scabbard, with brass end tip, 35ins overallThe item presents in condition commensurate with age and moderate usage. The blade itself is in good condition, there is some pitting in general again commensurate with age but no obvious sign of damage. The handle is leather bound and appears to be in good order. The hidden fastening clasp is present but does not function correctly. The main body of the stick is in good condition, the brass insert being in good condition, likewise the ferrule at the tip. Overall an honest example. Prospective bidders are strongly advised to study all images carefully prior to bidding as they form part of the condition report.

A 19th Century Bamboo Swordstick, the 61cm square tapering steel blade stamped SOLINGEN, with brass collar and root ball pommel, 93cm; a French M1866 Chassepot Yataghan Sword Bayonet, the back edge of the T section steel blade indistinctly engraved with manufacturer's name, the steel crossguard and scabbard stamped with differing numbers (2)1 - minor rust pitting to blade and split to haft. 2 - Deep rust pitting to blade, crossguard and scabbard.
