An ebonised table clock signed William Tomlinson, London, circa 1700, the gilt metal mounted case with folding brass figural cast handle, the 17.5cm dial signed above strike/silent lever, with gilt winged mask spandrels, silvered chapter ring, mock pendulum and date apertures to the centre, seven pillar verge movement with foliate engraved signed backplate, pull repeat on 4 bells and striking on a further bell, all on disc and claw brass feet 38cm high (handle folded), 28cm wide Noted that the crown wheel escapement needs some attention as the escapement does not interlock properly and the wheel jumps around as the pendulum swings. The pull quarter repeat is currently working. Brass retaining brackets look later and there are different position holes to case side for previous fixing (?) Possibly a married case therefore. Some age scratches to the case; replacement hinges to both doors. Private ownership of a deceased collector. Please see photos.
