CARTIER: AN 18K GOLD 'LA DONA' WRISTWATCH, CIRCA 2007Of quartz movement, the silvered guilloche asymmetrical tonneau-shaped dial, with Roman numerals ad inner hours and minute track, blued steel hands, fitted burgundy strap with original gold buckle, faceted blue crown, ref. 2904, case no. 83878MX, case, dial, movement and buckle signed, with certificate from Cartier in Milan dated December 25th 2007, with manual booklet and maker's case, case from 20mm to 16mm In 2006, Cartier unveiled ‘La Dona’ watch collection as a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Mexican actress and singer, María Félix. The collection, designed to honour her extraordinary legacy as both a style icon and a loyal Cartier client, captures the essence of the woman known to her fans as "La Doña". The La Dona watch, with its distinctive silhouette, tells a fascinating story, one woven from the deep connection between Maria Félix and the legendary jeweller. This bond dates back to the 1950s when the actress at the height of her fame, became a muse for the Maison. Known for her commanding sense of style and love for bold, statement-making accessories, she frequently turned to Cartier for bespoke creations. It was during this time that her renowned jewellery collection began to take shape, featuring striking pieces like the Snake Necklace and the Crocodile Necklace, two of her most famous Cartier designs. The crocodile, one of María Félix's favourite animals, played a pivotal role in one of the most memorable stories behind her jewellery. Legend has it that Félix brought her pet crocodile to Cartier's Rue de la Paix Paris boutique, hoping it would inspire the master jewellers to recreate the creature as realistically as possible. The result was a necklace that captured the wild elegance of the reptile, cementing Félix's love for animal-themed designs, a theme that Cartier had long been celebrated for. When Cartier launched the 'La Dona' watch in 2006, they paid tribute to the iconic relationship between the designer and María Félix, celebrating her fierce and exotic spirit while incorporating subtle nods to the crocodile that Félix so admired. The watch's trapezoidal case echoes the asymmetrical shape of a crocodile's head. Available in both polished metal and vibrant leather strap options, it offers a modern take on the boldness and elegance that defined Félix's personal style. Its classic dial, featuring black Roman numerals and blue sword-shaped hands, evokes Cartier's signature timeless elegance, while the faceted crown, topped with a blue stone, adds a touch of refinement. The design is both daring and graceful, perfectly capturing the essence of the woman it honours. Although María Félix passed away in 2002, before ‘La Dona’ watches were introduced, it's easy to imagine that she would have appreciated the watch's bold yet refined design. Today, the pieces she cherished, like her famous Snake and Crocodile Necklaces, live on in Cartier's official heritage collection, frequently displayed in exhibitions around the world. ‘La Dona’ watch collection, like these iconic pieces, serves as a lasting testament to María Félix's legacy, her love for the extraordinary, and her unique place in both Cartier's history and the world of style. Number 22 of only 60 manufacturedFull wet weather gearExceptional conditionThe Caterham Seven is a modern embodiment of a classic British motoring icon, blending simplicity, lightness, and raw driving pleasure. Rooted in the original Lotus Seven design of the 1950s, the 2017 iteration carries forward the same ethos of minimalism while incorporating contemporary engineering advancements. At its core, the Caterham Seven is about lightweight performance. Depending on the variant, it is powered by engines ranging from a compact 660cc Suzuki turbocharged unit in the entry-level Seven 160 to Ford-sourced engines delivering up to 310 horsepower in the high-performance Seven 620. Weighing as little as 500 kg (1,102 lbs) in some configurations, the car boasts an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, enabling blistering acceleration. For example, the Seven 620 can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, rivalling many supercars. The Seven’s design is unapologetically raw. It features an open cockpit, exposed wheels, and a tubular steel chassis covered with lightweight aluminium panels. There’s no unnecessary luxury—its minimalist interior includes basic instrumentation, bucket seats, and a compact steering wheel. Yet, these sparse features enhance the driving experience, putting the focus entirely on the road.It thrives on twisty roads and racetracks, where its nimbleness and agility shine. However, the lack of modern conveniences such as power steering, air conditioning, or advanced safety systems ensures it is a car for purists. In a world increasingly dominated by technology and complexity, the Caterham Seven stands as a tribute to pure, unadulterated driving joy. It remains an iconic choice for enthusiasts seeking the thrill of motoring in its most elemental form.Originally registered on 2nd June 2017 this Caterham has only covered 880 miles from new. It has the 660cc turbocharged engine which offers a brisk performance. Finished in the delightful colour combination of Camberwick Green with Red leather interior, this very low mileage Seven presents in unmarked condition. This is number 22 of 60 and was previously owned by Theo Paphitis of Dragons Den fame. It comes with a factory tonneau cover, together with full wet weather hood and screens. The 60th Anniversary model is a retro looking Caterham, based on a series Seven, this example is supplied with a V5C registration document, original keys and paperwork. Driving a Caterham Seven is a visceral experience. With its manual gearbox, precise steering, and unfiltered feedback, the car feels alive in the driver’s hands. Consigned by Stewart Banks. Restored exampleSignificant works by specialist Bill RawlesThe 1957 Austin Healey 100/6 is a classic British sportscar known for its elegant styling and spirited performance. An evolution of the Austin Healey 100, the 100/6 introduced a more powerful 2.6 litre inline-six engine, delivering improved performance and smoother cruising. With its long bonnet, low stance and sleek lines, it embodied 1950s roadster charm. The 2+2 seating layout made it more versatile, while the revised chassis improved handling. Produced during the golden era of British motoring, the 100/6 was a favourite among enthusiasts for both touring and competition. Today, it's a prized collector's item, admired for its beauty and heritage.Built in 1957, this Austin Healey 100/6 is an original right hand drive example, shipped to Perth, Australia where it lived in a dry state for most of its life before shipping to the UK in 2016. The history file and maintenance record boast a good amount of detail with history tracing back to 1976. The 2.6 litre 100/6 engine was rebuilt in the 1980’s to uprate the 2.6 litres to three litres, just like a 3000 Mk. I. The car retains the original side change gearbox and was maintained by reputable Australian workshops, The Healey Factory, Melbourne where the car was purchased by the previous owner before export to the UK.Upon arrival to the UK the car was used and enjoyed before sale to the current owner. During his tenure some light restoration and remedial repair works were undertaken by marque specialists Bill Rawles. The front suspension was rebuilt, brakes overhauled, improvements to reliability were fitted in the form of alternator conversion and electronic distributor, just to name a few. The interior was professionally retrimmed in Connolly leather, including the hood and tonneau cover. The result is the stunning example here today. We are informed that following this substantial investment by the vendor that the car drives extremely well. Consigned by Dominic Lake. Desirable factory-supplied hardtopPeriod Mk. III dashboard conversion and 15-inch Halibrand wheel upgradeIn the 1970s, the AC factory at Thames Ditton stopped service and repair of older Cobras. Brian Angliss’ Cobra Parts operation quickly picked up that business and built up a strong and influential customer base. He also moved closer to the factory operation over the years, eventually collecting enough original tooling, jigs and body bucks from Thames Ditton to fabricate new aluminium bodies, and utilising the same tooling and jigs used to create the original Ace and Cobra bodies. For Angliss’ new Cobra, the bodies were similar to the wide bodies built for the 427, but they used highly tuned 302 V8s. Although they used the same four-inch tubular steel frame, the cockpit was extended to allow more room for slightly taller individuals. The quality of Angliss’ work was so well-respected by owners and others in the AC community that in the mid-eighties, he was allowed to purchase the rights to the AC name from the Hurlock family, who had been strongly protective of the venerated name that they controlled since the 1930s.Following his success, a new AC company was established as a joint venture with Ford, who had also recently bought Aston Martin. Angliss’ company then began offering the AC Mk. IV. With his legal right to use the AC name and the unbroken lineage of craftsmen, tools, and materials employed in their production, these cars were lauded for their high build quality and retention of the original’s spirit and are generally considered ‘continuation’ cars. Autokraft, shortly after, moved to a purpose-built factory in Brooklands; in total, approximately 400 Mk. IV Cobras were built. This example was completed on 18th October 1985, it was invoiced and exported to Performance Motors, Jersey, Channel Islands. Used as a demonstrator for the AC authorised dealer until 1987, the car was then sold to its first private owner, Mr G. Howie of Taunton Somerset where it was imported to mainland UK and registered with the DVLA. During Howie's ownership of the Cobra, he purchased one of the very few factory-supplied hardtops, only available for a short period of time and the car featured in a 1989 copy of 'Auto Express' of which a copy is on file. His ownership ended in 1998 and over the next two decades it changed ownership three more times until 2020 when the most recent custodian acquired the Mk. IV. The history file is comprehensive, providing a wealth of information including current and previous copies of all UK V5C registration documents, invoices from specialists for various works over the past forty years, the original sales invoice, import documentation, correspondence from owners, MoT test certificates and much more. This detailed history file will provide you with a complete understanding of the car's journey. This Mk. IV has been meticulously maintained over the past forty years, with numerous visits to marque specialists and the Autokraft factory. In May 2024, Warren Heath Engineering undertook work on it and shortly after that, it was taken on a European road trip to follow the Mille Miglia. The Cobra was reported not to miss a beat and to be a delight to drive, a testament to its reliability and excellent condition. Registration No: VHN 177 Chassis No: TS2304 MOT: ExemptAcquired by the vendor, an accomplished engineer, during the Covid-19 Lockdown and treated to an exhaustive and wholly uneconomic restoration!Potentially eligible for the Mille Miglia Storica as a 'Long Door' plus other prestigious eventsKept deliberately stock with the exception of the gearlever activated overdrive and hi-torq starter motorBumpers come with the car (but are not fitted)Refinished in its factory colours (albeit with leather upholstery)In the context of industrial Britain's post-war 'export-or-die' drive, the personal rivalry between Jaguar's William Lyons and Standard-Triumph's Sir John Black only served to increase pressure on the latter's new sportscar project. Unveiled at Earls Court in 1952, favourable public reaction saw Triumph charge Ken Richardson with the task of translating its Type 20TS show car (often referred to as TR1) into production reality. Embarking on an intensive research and development programme, he designed a bespoke chassis built around an eighty-eight inch wheelbase. Equipped with independent coil sprung front suspension, a live rear axle and all round drum brakes, it was powered by a revised version of the company's 1991cc, OHV Vanguard engine. Developing an unstressed 90bhp this torquey unit was mated to a four-speed plus overdrive gearbox. Differing from the Type 20TS in offering a boot and internal spare wheel location, the prototype TR2s proved unexpectedly fast as witnessed by the 125mph (race trim) and 105mph (road trim) maximums posted by Richardson on a closed section of Belgian Jabbeke highway in Spring 1953. Deemed ready, the first production TR2 emerged in July that year. A decidedly rare survivor as an early, ‘Long Door’, home market, matching chassis and engine numbers example, chassis TS2304 was acquired by the vendor in July 2019. An accomplished engineer, he subjected the Triumph to an exhaustive and wholly uneconomic restoration during the Covid-19 lockdown. Off the road for decades, the TR2 had reputedly had its engine and chassis refurbished in the late 1980s / early 1990s but the wingless body was in a parlous state. The four-vent bonnet, boot lid and doors were present and the seller managed to reconstruct the tub using the renewed beams underpinning the ‘A’ and ‘B’ posts as fixed datum points. Not easily deterred, he spent three days refining the bonnet release mechanism. The completed body was painted on a rotisserie and the engine stripped to check that the earlier overhaul had been done properly. The gearbox and overdrive unit were rejuvenated and the propshaft balanced. The overdrive switch was incorporated atop the gearlever. The carburettors and fuel pump were renovated and a stainless steel exhaust system fitted. The original Triumph front wishbones did not permit camber angle adjustment and so were substituted for bespoke items which did. The project also encompassed the following new / reconditioned components: brake master cylinder / copper lines, aluminium fuel tank, copper fuel lines and matched sender unit, renovated (or new) instruments and drive cables, rejuvenated wiper motor, refreshed radiator together with Revotec Electric Fan and manual override and replacement wiring loom (changing the polarity to negative). The original dynamo was refurbished, a “hi-torque” starter motor added and new seat frames trimmed in leather to the original pattern. The previously re-chromed windscreen frame received new laminated glass and wind deflectors. A new hood, tonneau cover, fire extinguisher, Michelin X radials, carpets, headlights and sound deadening material were sourced too. Refinished in its original colours and potentially eligible for a host of VSCC events plus the Mille Miglia Storica, this delightful TR2 is worthy of close inspection. Registration No: FTX 99K Chassis No: S43077GT MOT: Exempt1 of c.664 Lotus-built Seven S4sBenefitting from a Craig Beck-tuned crossflow engine with twin 40 WebersFitted with a BGH gearbox, adjustable SPAX dampers and a stainless-steel exhaust systemThe chassis has been professionally refurbishedSupplied with a lightweight hardtop and roll-out tonneauTypifying the maxim that a whole can be greater than the sum of its parts, the Lotus Seven was introduced at the 1957 Earls Court Motor Show. Based around a multi-tubular spaceframe chassis, the aluminium-panelled newcomer was powered by a choice of Ford 100E, Coventry Climax FWA or BMC A-series engines. Popular with sporting motorists and club racers alike, the Lotus Seven evolved through Series 2, 3 and 4 guises before the design rights were sold to Caterham in May 1973. Launched in March 1970, according to the Lotus Seven Register, just c.664 S4 cars were built before Caterham took over production.'FTX 99K' is 1 of just c.664 Lotus-built Seven S4s and was first registered in October 1971, still retaining its original number today. Our vendor became the fifth owner some five years ago, when the chassis plate S4/3077/GT was confirmed to be unique by John Watson, the Lotus Seven Register's registrar. With a displayed mileage of some 66,000, in current ownership the Lotus has been extensively restored with the chassis refurbished by Neil Fowler Motorsport. The vendor has kindly supplied the following information, "During the restoration, the Seven benefitted from a fully rebuilt 1700cc crossflow on twin 40s, checked and tuned by Craig Beck Racing Ltd and measured at 125bhp with lots of torque!" In addition, there's a custom-built stainless steel exhaust manifold and silencer box, gearbox overhauled by BGH Geartech, new front discs and pads, a new race battery, adjustable Spax damper/spring platforms all round, custom-made wind deflectors, refurbished original seats and new belts. Gaining points in the desirability stakes, the vendor has had an S4 hardtop made from the original Lotus mould. A factory option priced at £65.00, only a few were sold in period, and this new top is fitted with a practical perspex opening rear window. The Lotus is also supplied with a history file, roll-out tonneau and a current V5C. For more information, please contact: Oliver Fernyhough-Martin oliver.fernyhough-martin@handh.co.uk 07483 361000
Registration No: PAR 658D Chassis No: HBJ835572 MOT: ExemptDesirable RHD 'home market' BJ8 exampleJust 3 Former keepers over nearly 60 yearsPreviously used for long-distance touring, with some subtle upgrades PLEASE NOTE: The side glass has been removed due to a crack and the vendor is happy to supply a new glass on sale of the lot.A significant step in terms of 'Big Healey' evolution and foundation block for one of the 1960s' most charismatic rally cars, the 3000 MkI was introduced in March 1959. Powered by an enlarged 2912cc version of BMC’s C-Series straight-six engine that developed some 124bhp and 167lb ft of torque, it could be had in two-seater (BN7) or 2+2 seater (BT7) configurations. Progressively improved, the 3000 metamorphosed through MkII and MkIIa guises before the arrival of the ultimate MkIII BJ8 in October 1963. Boasting a centre console, proper convertible hood, wood veneer dashboard, redesigned exhaust system and wind-up windows, the 2+2 seater BJ8 proved a comfortable and fast grand tourer. With engine output boosted to 148bhp and 165lbft of torque thanks to a new camshaft and better valve springs etc, its reputed 124mph top speed was accessed via a four-speed manual gearbox. Last of the line, the Phase Two variant benefited from redesigned rear suspension, strengthened splined hubs and larger diameter front disc brakes. First owned by Ms Judith Davies of Leavesden, ‘PAR 658D’ belonged to Maggi and Roger Byford for some forty-five years before entering the current (fourth) ownership via our June 2023 IWM Duxford auction. Garaged alongside the Byfords’ all-conquering, works-specification rally car ’32 EXT’ for decades, the BJ8 was used for numerous European Tours being subtly modified with a works-style overdrive switch to the gear knob, electronic ignition and 12v charging ports for sat-nav devices / mobile telephones. Entrusted to RobSport of Shepreth for a full inspection and minor recommissioning ahead of its last appearance under the hammer, the Big Healey had its fluid levels checked, nipples greased and spark plugs replaced etc. Described by RobSport proprietor Simon Hebditch at the time as “a car that runs and drives great, with overdrive (though a non-overdrive back axle has been utilised which is much better for touring)”. He also commented that “the mechanicals are great - the car really is a pleasure to drive with no noises that shouldn’t be there” before adding “the underside is excellent and not rusty” and “the trim has a nice patina and the dashboard is great, with the vinyl hood and tonneau also fitting well”. Deemed by the seller to be “running very well”, he has had the seat pads and door cards sympathetically smartened and the engine re-tuned. Well-known in Big Healey circles, this low owner, ‘home market’ BJ8 is offered for sale with V5C Registration Document, handbook, workshop manual, jack and hammer etc. For more information, please contact: Baljit Atwal baljit.atwal@handh.co.uk 07943 584762
Registration No: L28 MGR Chassis No: SARRAWBMBMG000330 MOT: June 2025Desirable ‘home market’ example (1 of just 307 UK cars from the total 1,982 produced)Finished in British Racing Green metallic (1 of just 205)Just 34,500 miles from newNicely presented example, now fitted with adjustable power-assisted steeringOffered with a substantial history file including the original book packLaunched at the 1992 Birmingham Motor Show, the RV8 signalled MG's return to the open sports car market. Just as the Cobra grew out of the unprepossessing AC Ace, so the RV8 evolved from the immortal MGB Roadster (hence the car's 'Project Adder' development code). Built around a thoroughly re-engineered and neatly restyled version of its predecessor's monocoque bodyshell, it was powered by a 3948cc V8 engine that developed some 190bhp and 318Nm of torque. Said to be capable of 135mph and 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds, the adoption of telescopic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars all round brought a notable improvement in handling. Trimmed to a high standard, its inviting interior boasted leather upholstery and rich wood veneers. With the vast majority of the limited production run (just 1,983 are thought to have been made) going to a retro hungry Japan, RV8s remain a rare sight on British roads.Supplied new by Wrights of Lincoln being registered new on the 10th of November 1993, this example was one of just 205 examples finished in British Racing Green metallic. The interior is 'Stone Beige' Connolly leather with Burr Elm dashboard and door cappings in uncracked or blemished condition. Covering regular but minimal mileage each year, the RV8 is now offered having covered just 34,500 miles from new. In the ownership of the vendor since 2021, the MG has benefitted from over £8,000 worth of expenditure during his custodianship, with notable works including a new fuel pump, attention to the wiring, a new rotor arm, and fan belt in 2024; new steering rack with EZ adjustable power steering and rolling road set-up in 2023; and new rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes, and new front brake pads in 2021. Furthermore, the underside was wax oiled a little over two years ago, and a new stainless steel exhaust and catalytic converters were fitted in January 2025.Always garaged and never taken out in adverse weather conditions by the vendor, the bodywork and windscreen surround are reported to pleasingly show no signs of corrosion. Well serviced during its life, chassis ‘0330’ has benefitted from fifteen services documented across the service book and invoices, with the most recent completed in 2024 at 34,181 miles. The large history file comprises the original book pack in MG wallet, a large collection of invoices and MOT certificates, a current MOT certificate until June 2025 with no advisories, past tax discs, technical information, previous ownership history, and a current V5C document. Offered with both the full and half tonneau covers, the MG pleasingly also retains its original tool kit. One of the highly desirable 307 UK-supplied RV8s, this example in BRG and with excellent history is certainly one to consider! Registration No: EWB 306H Chassis No: GCN17279 MOT: June 2025Desirable ‘home market’ RHD examplePresents in its original colour scheme of Tartan Red with a Black interior and a Black hoodSupplied new by Kennings Ltd of SheffieldLavished with an extensive restoration in 2008 with under 4,000 miles sinceOffered with a history file including the BMIHT Heritage CertificateIntended as a flagship sportscar to replace the Austin-Healey 3000, the MGC was introduced in autumn 1967. Based around the same two-door monocoque bodyshell as the humble MGB (albeit with a substantially altered engine bay and floorpan), the newcomer was powered by a 2912cc OHV straight-six engine allied to either four-speed manual plus overdrive or three-speed automatic transmission. Equipped with new torsion-bar independent front suspension, telescopic shock absorbers and lower geared rack and pinion steering, it was visually distinguished by a 'power bulge' bonnet and taller 15-inch wheels. While early road tests criticised the car's 'nose heavy' handling later reports were far kinder (which suggests that Abingdon's engineers quickly overcame the larger powerplant's extra mass). With some 145bhp and 170lbft of torque on tap, the model was reputedly capable of 120mph. Too readily confused with the four-cylinder MGB, it was dropped in 1969 after just 4,544 Roadsters and 4,458 GTs had allegedly been made. Though, over fifty-five years on, the MGC's lack of period sales success has only made it more collectible.Chassis ‘GCN17279’ was manufactured on the 22nd of April 1969, being dispatched on the 5th of May to Kennings Limited of Sheffield (of Sir George Kenning). Finished from the factory Tartan Red paintwork with a Black interior and a Black hood, this is pleasingly the colour scheme that the MG is presented in today, and it was specified with the factory with fitted equipment of wire wheels and a tonneau cover. The MG is a desirable matching chassis and engine numbers example and is known to have been lavished with an extensive restoration which was completed in 2008, with less than 4,000 miles covered since. The Roadsters restoration included a full bodywork renovation and repainting; engine overhaul utilising an unleaded head, carburettor refresh and balanced crank; new overdrive gearbox; stainless steel exhaust; re-cored radiator; new wire wheels; and brake refresh, as well as much more.Acquired by the vendor in 2018 as a retirement gift to himself from MG specialist Former Glory (for some £25,000), the MG has since been used locally before a change in health dictates sale. Throughout his ownership, ‘EWB 306H’ has been well maintained with expenditure surpassing £3,400. The improvements and maintenance including a full service in 2023; new engine and water hoses in 2022; fitment of electronic ignition, suspension improvement, attention to the brakes, new wheel bearings, and a refresh of the cooling equipment all in 2019, amongst much more. Running well during the recent photography session with good oil pressure, the MG is offered with a history file that contains the BMIHT Heritage Certificate, a large collection of invoices for the restoration and vendor's work, a collection of MOTs back to 1977, restoration images, and a current V5C document.A well-maintained and very nicely presented example of the MGC, this example boasts being a home market, original right-hand drive example with matching chassis and engine numbers, and being presented in its original colour scheme! Registration No: VU06 LZK Chassis No: SA944200004K00263 MOT: July 2025Listing just three former keepers from new (two of which were husband and wife)Displaying just 19,861 warranted miles on the odometer at the time of consignmentSupplied with full weather equipmentFirst seen in 1950 having been announced at the Earl's Court Motor Show, the Morgan Plus 4 was a larger and more powerful derivative of the company's 4/4 and remained in production on and off for seventy years. The Plus 4 at its introduction was fitted with a 2088 cc Standard Vanguard engine installed on a widened and strengthened 4/4 chassis with a wheelbase lengthened by 4 in (102 mm). Hydraulic brakes, initially all drum, were fitted for the first time on a Morgan. The Plus Four went from strength to strength and was upgraded with the Triumph TR2 and TR3 power units and ended production in 1969. For 1985, the Plus Four name was again reintroduced with the Series 2 featuring a Fiat Twin Cam 2.0 Litre engine followed by a Rover M16i engine from 1988 which carried through until production again ended in 2000. For 2004 however, the model was relaunched now powered by the Ford Duratec engine mated to a five-speed Mazda gearbox. Power was now 145bhp (later upgraded to 154hp) however Morgan still stuck to their traditional build methods for body construction. The model was again upgraded in 2020 and continues to be sold today, as one of their most popular models. According to the build ticket on file within the Morgan leather bound presentation folder, chassis SA944200004K00263 was ordered new by supplying dealer Allon White Sportscars and specified in the attractive colour scheme of Land Rover Oxford Blue Metallic over a Muirhead Heron Grey leather interior, with a Black hood. Registered with the DVLA as ‘VU06 LZK’, it was initially used as a demonstrator before being sold to the first private owner, a Mr D Stanley, in February 2007. Mr Stanley kept the car for some twelve years before passing away, and his widow took custodianship of the car in 2019. The vendor took ownership of the Morgan in July 2020 with 16,519 miles displaying on the odometer, purchasing it through Classic Chrome Ltd of Mortlake London and becoming the fourth owner. The vendor has had the car maintained to a very high standard during his ownership, entrusting works to SGT of Maidenhead, with the fitment of a new Alloy radiator during 2021 and with the most recent service evidenced by an invoice at 19,177 miles during July 2023.Now offered for sale due to the vendor not finding time to use the car, it is said to be in ‘very good’ condition cosmetically, with a paint crack on the offside rear wing being the only noticeable defect apart from age related wear. The rest of the car is described as ‘very good to excellent’ and presented for our photoshoot extremely well indeed. To be sold complete with tonneau cover, hood bag, three spare keys, the aforementioned Morgan leather bound build file, receipts for works, service stamp book showing a total of twelve stamps (now full and not including the service during 2023) and a full suite of MOTs since new, this delightfully spec’d Morgan was consigned displaying just 19,861 miles on the odometer and is due to be driven 50 miles to the sale.PLEASE NOTE: The private registration number 'X20 TWO' photographed has been removed and is not included in the sale of this lot. It was registered in July 1982; the final Roadster was constructed in October 1980 so this must have been one of the final ones to be sold new. Its odometer shows 57,933 miles and there's an MoT to October 2025 even though, as an historic vehicle, it no longer requires annual testing. The car comes with a tonneau cover and hood cover. Paperwork includes the V5C, a purchase, workshop and restoration manual, and a few invoices.
Make & Model:Morgan , 4/4 Date of Reg:WEC109Y Colour:Blue cc:1584 Fuel Type:Petrol Mileage:57866 Transmission:manual Summary:The previous owner of this Jubilee 1584cc Morgan 4/4 two-seater owned it for 26 years. It was registered in October 1982 and has had five registered keepers since then. The odometer shows 57,866 miles and the last MoT expired in November 2020 after being tested the year before at an indicated 57,268 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, it is now MoT-exempt. It features an aluminium body, composite wings and leather seats, Fiat twin-cam engine, walnut dashboard and hood and tonneau. Recent work includes new tyres, a reconditioned Weber carburettor, new plug leads, Varta battery, starter motor, windscreen wipers and the rear brakes overhauled. The car has been little used between 2020 and 2025; the vendor suggests it will need a general checkover and service. It is running and driving but the vendor notes that the exhaust silencer is a little noisy as are the alternator bearings (but the system is charging). The front brake offside inner piston is also slightly tight. Paperwork includes the V5C, a Haynes workshop manual for the Fiat 132 (for engine information), a few invoices and MoT certificates, a print-out of the MoT information back to 2006, radio instructions and a couple of brochures. It comes with a hood, side screens and tonneau cover. The lift-up tail section contains the spare wheel and fuel tank. The vendor tells us that the AC runs, drives and stops well, with all its gauges working. Paperwork includes the V5C, servicing data for the AC 16/60, 16/70 and 16/80 (on which the car is presumably based), lots of photos of work on the car, original buff log book, and invoices back to the 1990s. The odometer shows 70,794 miles; there's no record of an MoT back to 2005, when online records began. However, as an historic vehicle, the AC no longer requires annual testing. 1936 Riley Lynx Tourer, 1596cc. Registration number CON 59. Chassis number 27L 5887. Body number 5443. Engine number TBC. Sold with the V5C, keys, history folder. Produced from 1936 until 1938 when Nuffield took over the company, the Riley 1½-litre, is a range of cars that were available with saloon, touring, and sports/racing coachwork, The car is powered by a four-cylinder 1,496 cc with one or two Zenith carburettors. It was advanced for its day with twin camshafts mounted high in the engine block, cross flow head on some versions, and Zenith or twin SU carburettors. A Wilson re-selector gearbox is used. The chassis had half-elliptic leaf springs all round and drive was to the rear wheels through either a four-speed preselector or manual gearbox. Girling rod brakes were fitted. At launch three body styles were available: the Kestrel 4 light fastback saloon, the Falcon saloon and the Lynx open tourer. Of all the new 1½ Litre models, the Lynx was the least changed from its 12/4 predecessor. The chassis featured the same upgrades as the Falcon and Kestrel which were the only other bodystyles carried forward, but the Lynx body was carried over virtually unchanged. It remained the only 4-seater open car in the range, although by the end of 1937 production had almost ceased as the publics love of open 4-seaters had faded.Conny has been owned by our vendors father from the mid 1980's until his passing a 4 years ago. According to the V5C she has only had 3 owners since 1936. He was a very competent engineer and had a collection of Marston Sunbeam's that Spicers sold in 2020. Every winter he would take the Lynx off the road and strip her down for a thorough check over and service. This is evidenced by the good condition of the chassis and running gear, when photograph we released the hand brake and she effortlessly was pushed out. The engine has been turned over by hand but no effort has been made to start her. The ash frame appears to have been replaced in the rear section but the front is original with both sides having the body number stampings. The body now has considerable paint patina but appears to have no corrosion. The hood is in OK condition, as is the hood bag and full tonneau; there are thee window panels for each side.
