A mid-18th century mercurial airtwist tall wine glass - circa 1750, the drawn trumpet bowl on a mercurial airtwist stem on a conical foot with pontil, 18.1cm high.* In good condition overall, with no chips or cracks. Some scratching around edge of foot and a couple of tiny pinprick nicks from the top edge of the rim and one small frit to the foot. A few small scratches to the glass to upper surface of foot. The edges of the foot have some tiny fracture lines to the very outer edge around approx. 50% of the circumference (see photo).

Attributed to Hendrik Frans Verbruggen (Flemish, 1654-1724), a pair of large, baroque, carved oak, herald angels, each modelled contrapposto with wings spread, blowing a giltwood trumpet, approximately 99cm wide70cm deep140cm high (2)Condition ReportOld breaks, splits, losses and repairs throughout commensurate with age and use. Wings fixed with modern flat head screws to support the dowels, and each one is a tiny bit loose. Trumpets likely later, and one is a little loose at joints. Some movement in joints throughout, but overall they both appear structurally stable.General surface wear, dirt and dust. Some small amounts of variation in surface colour and condition throughout. Small traces of historic woodworm damage throughout, which does not appear active. Overall the pair are currently in fair structural and cosmetic condition.
