Moorcroft Pottery tube-line 'Pomegranate' biscuit barrel with pewter lid, pewter cover and rim. Designed by William Moorcroft for Liberty & Co., this vase features the signature Pomegranate pattern with deep crimson pomegranates and clusters of rich purple grapes, all set against a dark cobalt blue background. Rex Silver for Liberty & Co - an Arts and Crafts Tudric Pewter and Enamel Carriage Timepiece model 0721, the blue-green mottled enamel dial with copper chapter ring with Roman numerals to the French movement, contained in rectangular case the front cast with border of leafy tendril 4.75ins highExternally the item presents in good overall condition showing wear and patination commensurate with age and general usage. There are no obvious dents other than marks made through usage. There is no obvious sign of any previous damage or repair. The glass is good, only showing one or two very small marks again commensurate with age and usage. The dial itself is good, the enamel work is good, the chapter ring is clear and crisp. The hands appear original. The handle to the top is secure and functions correctly, as does rear door, the hinge is good with undue play and the latch fastens correctly. To the rear of the door there are numerous service and stock marks scratched. The mechanism presents in crisp and bright condition and is mounted on the normal wooden base and signed French movement. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. Prospective bidders are strongly advised to study all images closely prior to bidding.
