AKIRA (1988) - Two Animation Cels and Pencil Illustrations - A set of two original hand-painted animation cels from the production of Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira. The film is widely regarded as one of the greatest animated and science fiction films ever made and a landmark in Japanese animation. These cels were initially obtained from a comic video store in the early 1990s.One cel shows the male nurse seen during the sequence of Tetsuo Shima experiencing hallucinations in the hospital and is labelled "H- 26". The second artwork shows Doctor Onishi, the head scientist of the secret psychic research project and is labelled "A.35". Both cels are painted in gouache on acetate sheets and come with their original corresponding pencil production drawing. There are several strips of sellotape along the top of one of the drawings where the paper has been torn. It comes mounted in a custom display, which also includes the game box cover, and the game card. Carzon has signed the illustration in black ink, and the lines of his preliminary pencil sketch are visible beneath the ink. Adhered to the back of hte frame is the back of the game box. STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) - Reward Poster - The launch of home video machines during the late 1970s gave birth to the crime of video piracy. The machines afforded thieves a more convenient way to record and spread their illegal copies and allowed audiences to watch movies in the comfort of their homes. Unsurprisingly, the popularity of the Star Wars franchise and its much-anticipated third instalment led many a bootlegger to steal cinema film reels.To combat this, 20th Century Fox and Classic Cinemas created this 'Reward' poster offering 5,000 for any information about thefts and warning that any VHS tape copies found for sale were illegal. The original posters were printed in sets of two on one piece of paper (British Double Crown size) and then cut after printing, making one border thinner than the other.This example is folded with some creasing, nicks and tears around the border, and a few very small areas of paper loss on the edges. SUPER NINTENDO: MIGHT AND MAGIC II - Preliminary Map of the World Cron Sketch, Signed Guidebook, Poster and Game Cartridge - A preliminary map of the World Cron sketch, a signed guidebook, a poster and a game cartridge from the production of the role-playing video game Might and Magic II: Gates to Another World.The map was created by US illustrator Jim Krogle, who was also employed to draw the maps for the first instalment, Might and Magic: Book One - Secret of the Inner Sanctum. The sketch is rendered in pencil on velum and embellished with adhered printed cutouts. Krogle has signed the map in the bottom right corner in pencil.The guidebook is addressed to Krogle and signed by the game's designers, Jon Van Caneghem and Michaela Van Caneghem. Krogle has also signed the same page of the guidebook.The Might and Magic II cartridge is for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The poster is a printed colour version of the map. Flintlock wild fowling punt originally from the early 1800's converted in the early 1900's to percussion caps for more reliable firing but still using the flash pan for firing, approximately 11ft long. It was recently proofed by London arsenal approximately 15 years ago. Marks show its was originally caste at the London arsenal circa 1800, it was last used for hunting about 10 years ago. The punt gun has appeared on a number of TV shows including Ade Edmundson's TV series, Ade in Britain (see YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cO2D4rjQ1o ) as well as Griff Rhys Jones series Rivers.   This is perhaps one of the last working examples of an early 1800's punt gun, approximately 10'5" long. Please note that  the punt boat is not included in this lot.
