A Regency mahogany combined wheel barometer/timepiece. Circa 1810, with a swan neck pediment, enamelled timepiece dial, the remainder silvered, height 108cm.The mercury is present and the barometer appears to be working.The timepiece is untested, there is a small enamel chip on the dialThe glass cover of the level is missing, moulding is absent from the edge of the pediment, there are slight splits and general marks, commensurate with age.Additional images are now online.

Gatty', the chevron edged case with a circular fan rosette to the open triangular pediment over arched glazed silvered Fahrenheit scale spirit thermometer and twin oval conch shell motifs to the baluster-shaped trunk, the rounded base further inlaid with conforming fan rosette, H99cm Condition Report: Overall in good condition. Very small area of worm down near the base. Some small losses to the stringing. Areas of wear including scratches and knocks consistent with age and usage but no substantial damage. Would benefit from a clean. There dont appear to be any obvious bubbles in the mercury.

Aiano, North Gate, Canterbury within concentric scale divided in barometric inches and annotated with the usual observations, with steel pointer set behind glazed cavetto moulded brass bezel with a brass recording pointer applied to the glass, the mahogany case with a silvered scale spirit thermometer and oval conch shell motifs to the baluster-shaped trunk and base. H102cm x W26.5cm.
