Charlotte Epton (1902-1970) at Leach PotteryCanister and cover, circa 1927-1930green glaze with incised white patternsimpressed potter's and pottery seals15cm high. Charlotte Epton was a potter who worked with Bernard Leach in St. Ives between 1927 and 1930, and with Michael Cardew at the Winchcombe Pottery. A fire at the Leach Pottery meant most of her work from the St. Ives period was destroyed. She exhibited at the Beaux Arts Gallery in Bond Street in 1928. She was married to Edward Bawden after meeting at the Royal College of Art. old chip to base rim. Three firing cracks to the body near the base. Otherwise good.

A collection of various Winchcombe Pottery mugs including four with wavy line and leaf type decoration, two cream glazed and one treacle glazed, all approx. 9.5-10.5 cm high (7) CONDITION REPORTS The three non-wavy lined mugs - have all clearly been used for tea and coffee for some time with staining and build up to the inside. All seven are in need of a good clean, particularly the wavy lined ones, as though they have been stood on a shelf, very dusty and mucky. Some sign of crazing to the glaze on all. Two of the wavy lined ones have further incised marks not just the impressed Winchcombe Pottery mark. Otherwise wear and tear conducive with age and use and manufacturing to include some small firing faults etc - see images for more details

Three pieces of stoneware studio pottery - comprising a baluster vase by Matt Grimmitt, Winchcombe Pottery, dark brown iron glaze, impressed potter's monogram and pottery marks, 23cm high; a bowl by Vicki Read, Winslow Pottery, with streaked deep pink-red, brown and grey-green glazes, painted potter's and pottery marks to base, 26.25cm diameter, 10cm high; and a vase by John Jelfs (b.1946), mallet form with mottled chocolate brown gloss and eggshell glaze with two impressed square window motifs, impressed potter's and incised '34' marks, 15.3cm high.
