A late 18th century 8-day longcase clock in an oak and cross-banded mahogany case, the painted arched dial signed John Winstanley, Holywell, probably John (I), the father of several sons in the Winstanley family to follow into the clock trade, the dial typical in style and colour for dial manufacturers Wilson, matched steel hands, fronting an 8-day recoil anchor escapement striking the hours on a bell, the case with long trunk door, wavy top, quarter reeded columns to the trunk, reeded columns to the hood, surmounted by swan-necked pediment with floral paterae, with 2 cast-iron weights and pendulum with brass faced bob. Height 218 cm
