1971 Honda ST70 Dax 'Mini Bike' Registration no. LUU 981K Frame no. ST70 137965 Engine no. ST70E-116279 Honda's ST-series minibikes, particularly the ST70 Dax, have become cult classics thanks to their distinctive pressed steel frame, folding handlebars, and robust 72cc overhead camshaft engine. Originally designed for fun and light utility use, the ST70 offered portability and practicality in a charmingly compact package. This particular example, LUU 981K, was first registered on 18th September 1969 according to the HPi and remains in what appears to be unrestored condition. The odometer displays just 5,879 miles. According to the accompanying V5C logbook, the bike has had four recorded keepers from new. The second owner acquired it on 19th May 1972, and is believed to have retained the bike until 1999. The third owner owned it from 1999 until 2024. The machine was reportedly running when purchased last year by its fourth owner but has not been started since, and will require recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent before returning to active use. A wonderful opportunity to acquire an honest and increasingly collectible Honda ST70, ideal for sympathetic recommissioning/restoration or preservation in its current patinated state. Offered with a V5C, old style V5 and assorted paperwork and documentation. Offered without key Footnotes: All lots are sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. AUCTION INFORMATION & GUIDE FOR BUYERS Please see the Auction Information and Guide for Buyers at the top of the main sale page (Motorcycles Online - The Summer Sale) for all pertinent information regarding bidder's obligations, viewing, bidding, payment, post-sale collection & transportation.
