2007 Ducati GT1000 'Café Racer' Registration no. FX07 EDV Frame no. *ZDMC103AA6B006872* Engine no. ZDM992A2*034782* •Three owners from new •Present ownership since 2018 •Modified by the current vendor •Removed original parts included This unique Ducati GT1000 was purchased by the vendor in 2018 and has been transformed by him into this beautiful café racer. Specification details include original front forks pushed through the yokes by 30mm to accommodate the Renthal clip-on handlebars; Bitubo shock absorbers made to special order (30mm shorter than stock) while retaining the narrow bottom mount to clear chain and chain guard. (The aforementioned changes necessitated the use of the shorter side stand of a Multistrada.) The original owner had specified alloy wheel rims from the Sport 1000 in preference to the standard GT steel rims, and these have been rebuilt with black spokes. An off-the-shelf glassfibre café racer seat was obtained and then beautifully upholstered by Core Motorcycle Seating. The original red plastic side panels were then replaced with hand-made alloy panels to follow the line of the seat and fuel tank. (No side panels may have been better aesthetically but the vendor did not want to de-tab the frame and thereby make the build irreversible.) The after-market hugger/chain guard, fly screen and megaphone silencers were all in place when the bike was purchased. An Aliant lithium battery is located under the seat hump. Tarozzi footrests and levers have been mounted on home-made plates with a slightly raised and rear-set position. The original footrest mounting brackets also located the silencers, so new silencer hangers were machined and fitted. EBC VR Series discs and custom-made HEL brake lines replace the originals, while an RK 525ZXW chain is carried on lightweight Renthal sprockets. The removed original parts are offered with the machine, which also comes with the original Ducati wallet and instruction books, including the stamped service booklet. Also on file are four old MoTs (most recent expired in October 2022) and a current V5C Registration Certificate. Buyers' Premium and Charges
Like the vast majority of auctioneers Bonhams charge a Buyer's Premium on the Hammer Price of each Lot purchased and this is subject to VAT. Some lots may also be subject to VAT on the Hammer Price and these lots will be clearly marked with a symbol (†, Ω, *) printed beside the lot number.
For Automobilia the Buyer's Premium is 28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price; 27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,001 up to and including £800,000; 21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,001 up to and including £4,500,000 and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,001.
For Motor Cars and Vehicle Registration Numbers the Buyer's Premium will be 15% on the first £500,000 of the hammer price of each Lot, and 12% on the balance thereafter.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% + VAT of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the standard rate is payable on the Buyers Premium by all Buyers, unless otherwise stated.
