A collection of modern silver items various maker's and dates Comprising: a set of six 'nut' dishes / ashtrays, Henry Hodson Plante, Birmingham 1949, centred with engraved crest and coronet, diameter 8.2cm; a pair of small bowls, Guild of Handicraft, London 1966, diameter 9.5cm; two small wine coasters, Birmingham 2004; and a small six-piece condiment set, Hamilton & Inches, Edinburgh 1933, weight od bowl and dishes 30.5oz. (Qty) Footnotes: Provenance: By descent through the Jervis family to the present owners, descendants of Admiral of the Fleet and 1st Earl of St Vincent (1734-1823) This is the crest and coronet associated with the arms of the JERVIS family, Viscounts St Vincent of Meaford, Staffordshire. In particular at the time of assay (1949) the incumbent was Ronald George James JERVIS (1905-2006) 7th Viscount St Vincent, the second son of Ronald Clarges JERVIS (1859-1940) 6th Viscount by Marian Anne (Broun) BROWN (1872-1911) daughter of James BROWN of Orchard Carluke co. Lanark. In 1949 he married Constance Phillida Anne LOGAN (1921-2013) daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Hector LOGAN by Gladys G C GREENE. The 7th Viscount held the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the RNVR, during his wartime service 1940-5. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
