John Butler Yeats was one of Ireland’s foremost portraitists and draughtsmen, father of poet W.B. Yeats and painter Jack B. Yeats. He is especially admired for his pencil and ink drawings, which reflect psychological sensitivity and literary insight. His works are represented in major public collections, including the National Gallery of Ireland and the Yeats Archive at the National Library.
