A painter, teacher, and designer from Belfast, his work spans abstraction, symbolism, and psychological portraiture. Influenced by European modernist movements and personal spiritual inquiry, Middleton produced a deeply original body of work that remains widely collected and studied. His pieces are held in major collections including the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Ulster Museum.
