The scene is framed by leafless trees and rolling brushwork under a bright blue sky with scattered clouds. The composition is lively and balanced, with Carson’s characteristically bold palette and expressive strokes capturing both warmth and simplicity. Signed lower left. Image: 29 x 36.5 cm. Framed: 51 x 58.5 cm. PICTURES AND PRINTS Tuesday 16th September 2025 19:19:10 Biography ROBERT TAYLOR CARSON HRUA (1919 - 2008) Robert Taylor Carson was an Irish artist whose work reflected an impressionistic approach. He explored a wide range of subjects including landscapes, portraits, and figure studies, and he was accomplished in oils, watercolours, and pastels. His contribution to the arts was recognised with membership of the Royal Ulster Academy in 1975 and the Ulster Water Colour Society in 1983. Over the course of his career, his paintings were shown widely across Ireland, as well as in the United States and throughout Europe. Today, his works can be found in both public and private collections, notably the National Self Portrait Collection and at the University of Limerick.
